thank you, ill be going and buying some Lemmy Kilmister stings, hopefully, today, but I have to boil my slink's on my custom bassLearned the trick from an interview with bill Wyman. He said he always played old strings as he doesn't like the squeeks and zings of new ones.
About 10 minutes with a little washing powder makes em quite lively again. Just not as zingy as new ones.
Did it all the time back in the day as I had no money for strings.
Now when I'm not trying out something new I still do it. I agree with Wyman I don't like them to be too bright.
It looks like it’s being called a Gibson EB.
Whoa! What is that? Diggin' the offset pickups and bridge!NBD...Dingwall #2!

Dingwall is one of the premier names in fanned fret designs. Not trying to knock any others, but it seems to be Dingwall's specialty... like, literally... do they ever *not* do fanned frets?

Never heard of Dingwall! Does it take some getting used to playing a fretboard like that? Is it comparably heavy to the original P-bass?

I've yet to try fanned frets; myself, been itchin' to... I would say it really depends on the person... I wouldn't buy one w/o playing it several times first. I've *heard* it can take some people a few weeks to get accustomed to it, but I don't know...
