The official "Show your basses" thread part 19!

Just moved house and finally had the time to hang my basses on the wall. Lovely sight.

EDIT: I thought "let's make a list of what's to see here".
Top row, f.l.t.r.: Dingwall Combustion 5, De Gier Soulmate, Fender JMJ Mustang, Blade B2 Tetra Bass, Fender Standard Jazz fretless

Bottom row, f.l.t.r.: Yamaha BB N5II, 1971 Fender Precision Bass, De Gier Bebop 5, 1966 Fender Jazz Bass.

Even better: I have 2 De Giers! The five string Jazz is a Bebop, and the red Precision is a brand new Soulmate. The Bebop is an "older" Bebop, from 2013. It's an awesome bass, quite heavy but otherwise perfect. It's the first Bebop ever to have dots & binding on the neck :) It's quite a big bass, I think Sander has redesigned it so it's a bit smaller these days. I've used it extensively in many different situations and it works every time!

I've just picked up the Soulmate two weeks ago so I can't really say anything about how it works in a band situation, but this too is simply amazing. It's the first Soulmate ever to have dots & binding too (I like to brag about that hehehe) and the first De Gier bass éver with lollipop tuners.

You said to let you know which bas we like - well if you remember THE STATUS bass.

But really - I can not tell - but you need to let us know what amp you are using for the videos - sounds good.

Lenny

Thanks Lenny :).

I'm using the Orange CR50BXT. Line out is going into my focusrite, and that goes into my production desktop that's running Reason 11. I really like the little orange amps for around the house and bringing to friends. I also have one of the 25w tiny models (they actually sent me a two pack, funny enough) that I like as well. Both are well priced and high quality.

Putting together a new tuxedo clad Frankenjazz. Unknown era arctic white MIM body, original pickups, black Hipshot bridge, All Parts bound and blocked chunky C neck with matching headstock (wrapped), black classic tuners and black string tree. I have a custom "Vander Jam Bass" decal on order to finish out the look.

Neak peak of tomorrow's video. We're checking out some MJC Ironworks strings on my Ibanez AFR5WAP and ATK810

I loved my old ATK so much I had to buy 2 of the triple coil pups and slap them in my "peacemaker" bass (left side of profile pic). They are actually from Ben Strange's original "Quadzilla" bass that had FOUR triple coil PuPs. Has a unique sound that I like... I just wish the body wasn't so dang heavy, but that's my fault for choosing Oak and Walnut.
Check out my quadruple pickup Ibanez ATK.

You'll see my posts at the end of the thread.

Haven't heard Mr. Strange's name dropped in a long time. He's a cool dude. That bass is nuts. I couldn't imagine more than one of those pickups in a bass lol. I'm LOVING this ATK 810. Like... LOVING it. It's so good.

I know its not a 'Ray, but it sounds really good. I may not have the original ATK preamp in my bass now, but I have both pups able to go single (outer) coil/Parallel/series and it is nothing short of ferocious, tonally. I want to swap out the pre ($5 no-name ebay) and maybe do some better wire management. If only I had free time to work on my basses...

This was my first time shaping and routing a body from scratch, learned a lot... like how I need to plan my knob layout better /facepalm
