The official "Show your basses" thread part 19!

Got a Dean Edge Pro 5 in a trade. Can't believe the QC on this. Really nice action, and like the Bad Ass bridge

I call her "Purdie". My one and only bass.

That's sexy. Ever since I've seen those I've kinda wanted to do that flip mute mod to something. That's like what used to be on Jaguars. I had one a long time ago with one but never thought of it in a bass application until I saw it on a SH. I dig your bass.

Good review. I find it disturbing you know the words to that song :D but lobster on.

Hahah thanks! I had the lyrics up on my monitor :P... that's my story and I'm sticking to it!... Once upon a time I was falling in love... Now I'm just falling apart.. crap It's still stuck in my head.

Soooo the next Head to Head video will be.......?

Not that! I try to not include unobtanium in head to heads, because you really can't get em. That would be a "OK, this bass is better but I have one and you will never own one. Nanana boo boo!". Was originally contemplating doing a head to head on my Roccos, but instead I'm just going to do separate reviews and reference the Conklin in the ESP one. For the affirmas, going to do a 3 part series reviewing each of the 3 affirma basses and talking a little bit about their history and stuff. I have an EDA905 in really great shape en route right now. I'm kind of excited to have one of the EDAs... but I used to own an Ergodyne EDB... and they just smell like mixture of wet paint and gasoline with their weird luthite/lucite bodies and finish.

what i'm working with so far...
  • "houston" singlecut 6 string fretted bass. got it for just under $300 and plays wonderfully. can't find anything about the maker whatsoever
  • 6 string ibanez btb fretless. nicest fretless bass i've ever played
  • 5 string ibanez btb
  • 60's(?) silvertone bass with a jbass neck
  • "funk machine" 4 string ibanez sr that i defretted. has a piezo bridge
  • squier jazz V that i cut and glued to a rogue guitar for a band i'm in. the guitarist plays the bottom half sitting down while i lean over and play the top half
