Bag? What type of optical illusion is this? I didn't see any bag over the loudness of that bass!
What bass is that even? It's beautiful! What a headstock, body shape & the wood on it is perfect. Never seen one like this!
Didn’t really notice. It was included with the gig bag.
This one is an early prototype from '86. One of my most prized possessions. John Entwistle and Warwick founder, Hans Peter Wilfer designed it. First time I laid eyes on one was when I met the Ox backstage at the NAMM JAM at the VIC Theater in Chicago in ‘87. I was there setting up synths for a few bands back in my GC days. Instantly fell in love and made it a “have to have one day”.

LOL I wish I wasn't noticing basses lying around the house like that too! Yeah I was doing some more searches for that bass & John Entwistle came up. I was shocked to learn that this bass was nothing new, I was just somehow not seeing much of these so I never recognized it & thought it was a brand new design.Didn’t really notice. Now I'm looking at that bass like you were in '87! I really have to have me one like that too. It's one of the most gorgeous basses I'd ever seen.

You're correct! Here's a stock photo of one:

The previous owner bought it new and it did its time through a few decades worth of bar gigs. It took about six months to fully air out.

I finally got the minute to read that article, it was a fun read. None of them remember who called it The Buzzard after going out to have drinks lol
I'm glad they went with the later headstock design instead of the early one, it's a huge improvement from the former.

I wanted something passive but I love EBMM. So I got myself a Caprice! I will probably replace the pickguard at some stage!

Just finished up this 32" Warmoth. It was supposed to have black hardware but I couldn't wait. Not to sure about the oil on roasted ash...it's a bit too orange-y. Maybe it'll mellow in tine. Or I can go rub some dirt on it.
I think the body is beautiful just as it is. Several different shades blending nicely there! -That headstock tho.....

I agree with that. Looks fantastic. Black hardware looks like a good idea, but other than that i wouldn't change a thing!

Almost done with this here puppy. Took me a long long time. Everything is handbuild. I used a handrouter and jigsaw where needed. The rest is fine with rasps, files, sandpaper.
The beam I could find for the neck was a tad short. So it became semi neckthrough. Just fitted the hardware. Action and intonation have yet to be set. And everything has to be connected up inside. Strap buttons need to be attached still.
Gotoh tuners. 3d bridge. MEC SS pickup and a preamp with just volume and stacked two band eq.
Neck is Maple-Paduk. Body swamp-ash. A rare find in these parts. Rosewood fretboard. Finished with Osmo hardwax oil. That stuff is to good to be true.
Testing later today. But this is the first time she is dressed.
