The official "Show your basses" thread part 19!

Here is my Frankensteined Fretless ... Squire body, a neck from ebay, DIY pickguard, 2 pickups and an unnamed ebay preamp. I think the preamp is voiced for guitar and not for bass, it sounds like the bass is about 100hz and the mid is higher than most bass midrange on preamps. The lines on the neck were done with a sharpie.

I’ve always been curious about what a precision/MM would sound like. The PJ works so well because the P is Beefy and in J is crispy. I feel like a P/MM setup would be boomy af

Agreed. Although I would phrase that notion a little differently: “The PJ works so poorly because the P is midrangey and the J is tinny. I feel like a P/MM setup would be full yet detailed af.”

my collection as of October 2021. I kept the picture size down to make it easier to scroll. My biggest problem is what do I play today. Also 3 more basses in my workshop in various stages of completion.

When paired with a preamp you can get a lot of treble bite, or growlly midrange, or fat low end.

Here's another one I did with P mm ... It got sold to a friend
