Edit: and yes, no Fender included

Welcome aboard! Bass is like guitar, but cooler. This is my first post on the TB, but have been lurking in the background off and on for years. You might recognize the screen name from a few guitar forums. My first experience with the low end was with my daughter's SX Ursa 1. I toyed with it off and on, but never got serious with it. She's since moved out, got married and made me a grandfather! I haven't played with one in about 5 years.
Anyways, I have since got my own to play around with. It's A Donner DPB-510B. Surprisingly it's a decent budget bass for learning on. I'm having fun with it and definitely progressing quicker with it than I have with guitar.

I got it for $118.40 shipped new in box, before they raised the price and I had a 20% coupon code. I also got an incredible deal on an Ashdown Studio 8 practice amp of $99.99 new! At the time it was normally $164.99. After the sale it went up to $199.99 and two weeks later it went up to $219.99!
I think I got started at a very reasonable price.
