Had a Lucite Berger many years ago... I bought it used for about a few hundred, probably got about the same for it when I sold it. As I recall, they weren't considered so much as treasures back then as unusual oddities. Folks liked the Berger's different headless styling and it's tones well enough I think, but they were also considered awkward handlers and much too heavy. Treasures now? -I guess... TEHO, but I wouldn't want one again.

I could be wrong, but I don’t believe there were any Steinberger instruments made from Lucite.

are those rockbasses or the warwicks made in germany in the late 90s or a mixture?

They are German made Warwick Streamers, 3x 1999 and 1x 2000

nice, I've got one of those, it's by far my favorite bass. I didn't realize they came with so many different finishes and body woods. don't see many of them around and not in such good condition. mine's covered in dents because the body wood is so soft but damn does it sound nice

Sorry, meant Graphite... Plus mixed with some kind of 'secret ingredient'. Whatever it was, I remember it as being solidly dense and damn ~heavy~!!

I'm just getting back into playing after 5 years of focusing on my business.
I had a good friend, TB user Jedibass assemble two parts basses for me.
In September I got the Shoreline Gold P. MJT body and Warmoth roasted maple neck.
Yesterday I got the Candy Apple Tangerine 54 P. Again, MJT body and this time an Allparts neck. Nordstrand hum cancelling pickup.
Jedibass did some incredible work. He made the pickguard for the 54 by hand, after trouble finding one that fit properly, and its perfect!! He also did something I never experienced, rolled edges on both fingerboards.
LOVE the Indianhead nickels for string retainers!!
Two amazing basses. Jazz bass is next

My one "true" vintage Fender (I still have trouble thinking of my '76 P as vintage)....
1966 one owner Jazz. It went from him, to a dealer, to me. All straight with original playwear. It plays beautifully and provides the vintage tone I expect. I was extremely skeptical about that until I found this bass. None of my other "modern" J's sound like it

The orinal owner put on a body guard when he bought it so the back is unmarked. I have one on it now to keep it so.

NBD for me as of yesterday -- so I'm trolling through eBay last week and decided to roll the dice on this GSR100EX being sold for "parts or not working" due to body separation issues, warning buyers it's "unplayable," etc. It arrived yesterday evening, very much in "playable" shape.

I did eventually find it; it's by the heel of the neck on the back of the bass where one of the joints is. You really have to get up close to see it.

it doesn't look to me as if the body is separating so much as it is a sloppy join, where the work wasn't quite finished in connecting the upper horn to the rest of the body. $88 shipped! Came in the original box and was apparently originally from Sweetwater.
First impressions: This is my first Ibanez bass, and I have to say I'm really impressed by it. This is a pretty humble instrument (I needed a second working bass to practice with), and though it looks as if the bridge was fished out of a cereal box and the scarf joint on the neck is clearly visible from about 25 feet away, the neck FEELS crazy good, frets very clean and smooth, the factory-set action is way low, I might have to raise it. The factory strings aren't great of course, will have to change them. Very light also, as I've heard about the Ibanezes. The pickup sounds a little muddy to me, but I didn't play with it plugged in that much yet & of course need to tweak things.

Sounds like you got a great deal!
The neck on my Ibanez is fantastic. The bass is also the lightest I own.
