It's not as iconic as a T-bird - but it probably delivers the goods!

It delivers in spades! The one piece mahogany body and set neck/ebony fb come in at 9 lbs, Schaller hardware. It is very well done. Neck has P width with TBird depth. They wanted a P player to be able to move right onto it. It didn't work (again) but not for lack of trying.
Being one of the "lost" models, reasonable prices can be found. An exc alternative in your Fender collection.

Thank you, initial impression this is one of the best basses I've had yet and it's got some kinda major issues. I say kinda because it came with the parts for the solution

I used to be crazy about preamps, now I'm leaning towards simplicity. Don't get me wrong, a good preamp is nice, but I don't want to have to fiddle with 5 knobs and three switches anymore.

Stingray style with just treb/bass boost/cut looking mighty good to me, everything else can be handled via offboard EQ... YMMV

This is Vol bal tone. I like more than that. The audere is active only but everything centered is passive with tonenwide open. Making my treble knob a tone control. So 2band or 3band works for me. The 3 band I like mid control but I have that all over my board and amp. But, I also like to set and forget my amp with micro adjustments available right on the bass

I put a 2 knob 3 band classic into a droc and really enjoyed it. It let the pickups do thier job with out coloring. I like pres that color too but in a PJ with super rowdy Nords I don't think they'll need any help

Egg on my face and another reminder to read everything... It came with a nordstrand preamp As was stated in the ad. Impulse buying at it's finest. Thank God for a great seller and killer deal all around.

I find that nut design incredibly interesting. It appears to be brass with the same size circular cut out in four places with brass filler pieces to account for the various string sizes. Never seen anything like it.

Its an old adjust-a-nut
