Ta gitarka zatczeła życie jako 2014 Squier Affinity Jazz V, używana za $120. Przes następne lata, ja powolutku zaczęłem praćować nadnim. Zmieniłem szyje, zmieniłem móst i klucze, dodałem przedwzmacniacz i przełączniki na parallel/single coil…dużo pracy nadnim, ale wyszed fajnie. Mam go już dziewięć lat.

It started out as a 2014 Squier Affinity Jazz V, bought used for $120. I slowly began work on it over the years, first replacing the neck, then routed the body for the Kiesel HB pickups (first as a J/MM configuration, then 2MM), added a preamp and switches for Parallel/Single Coil, replaced the bridge and tuners with Hipshot…lots of work, but it came out pretty cool. I’ve had it for 9 years already, it was probably 6 months old when I bought it.

What kind of pickup is that in the Black-n-white bass?

Aside from tuners, I finished up number five. A Harley Benton PB-50SB. A 1950's P bass copy.

I replaced the stock D'Addario XL Nickel Strings with a set of D'Addario Chrome Flat wounds. The stock plastic nut was replaced with a TUSQ XL. The steel saddles were replaced with brass saddles and I installed the Shatray Bridge and pickup covers. There was some fret end issues, not enough to cut you, but wouldn't pass the nylon stocking test. A full setup and now it plays and sounds sweet. I'm getting what seems like a hotter vintage tone and plays great.
