Yeah, I've been shooting JPEGs but I've been meaning to try shooting RAW and doing some minimal post-processing. Is Lightroom available for CS3? Anyone have any thoughts on Apple Aperture? Just wondering.

The L lenses tempt me like sweet basses do only because I know that I could "afford" them but I don't think I should just go out and buy one until I know what I'm doing with the camera that I have. That said my only option for what I want to do might as well be an L by many accounts. I have this fascination with low light photography so I'm really looking at the fast lenses and that usually means money, lol. I'm torn between the 85mm 1.8, 17-55mm 2.8 IS, or saving my pennies for the 24-70mm 2.8L. Eventually, I will have a 70-200mm 2.8L IS but that's when I won't look like a newb with money to burn, lol.

If you can find a 50mm 1.8, they're usually about 100 bucks. That's a great way to get into low light.

Lightroom is a stand-alone program. It's the equivalent of Aperture (as far as I've read).

+1 on Pacman's last two posts.

I got a 35mm 1.8 and it was a revelation. It rarely leaves my camera these days unless I just have to have zoom. My next prime will be a 50mm 1.4 but I may get a wide angle first.

Kwesi - do yourself a favor and read Understanding Exposure by Brian Peterson. It's what got me shooting in manual and lead to another step up in the quality of my photos.

+1. I love my 50mm 1.8f. A wonderful cheap lens that I use for the majority of my shooting. Easy to carry around and produces very sharp photos.

As you know (or not), our beloved politicians have been trying to form a government after the elections of june (!) 2010.

For several reasons they have been unable to do so, meanwhile the markets & credit bureaus are watching us, increasing the rent on Belgian obligations, etc.

So, last sunday there was a big demonstration in Brussels against the standstill...

I just registered for the Houston workshop on Joe McNally and David "the Strobist" Hobby's Flashbus tour. This is perfect for me because I love mcnally's work, he uses Nikon like me and will probably be using Nikon CLS and I'm just about to get into off camera flash which both of these guys are masters of.

March 26th. I'm stoked!

Brad, I'm jealous! I have the Strobist videos, and there is *so* much to learn from those two guys - and they're really funny to boot. Enjoy, and be sure to let us know how it goes.
