So I hope this is not annoying that I'm posting this many images here but I got my Nikon D5000 on Thursday. This is my first dSLR camera. On Friday and Saturday I had a bunch of opportunities to take some concert pics. This is what I ended up with.. I'm a total dSLR and concert-photography noob though so give me some tips:

Two excellent shots IMHO. The others need a little more definition IMHO. Not sure what speed you were shooting at but try getting up there to enable you to max your shutter speeds. It might also be the resolution you're shooting at or it might how you've edited them down. Whatever way, it's a very good start with a new camera.

Whoa, it's been a while since I came check out the forums.
Awesome pictures DigMe, proves that the camera doesn't matter and is just another instrument to express the sounds of the soul.

Here's Channel Theory's guitarist in Cincinnati's Midpoint Music Festival. Kind of blurry where it needs to be sharp but, meh.

Brent Reed, Midpoint Music Festival. Would have been awesome if the background was black and not a tent. :atoz:

If you like these, see the Invalid Link Removed. SHAMELESS PLUG: If you live in Cincinnati or the tri state area I can photograph your band at a reasonable rate. Just let me know via email, or visit my Invalid Link Removed for details.

Thanks. I really didn't do much processing on most of these simply for lack of time. Some could definitely benefit from sharpening and noise reduction. The problem really is me just getting to know the camera and whatnot I think. A couple of other factors are that for the two pics you pulled out I was right there on the front row (all the Hillsong London and Israel Houghton pics were from right up front) and all the other pics I was further back and limited on how much I could move around. From that far back I really could have benefited from a 70-200mm f/2.8 lens or something but I don't have anything that can approach that f/stop in a 200mm.

I'm running out out snaps, this below is an old church (I wish I had the date), the figurine pictured was considered the 'loose' woman of the town, so they had her displayed for all to see and recognise for her 'lifestyle', imagine walking past yourself depicted like this every Sunday (though I doubt this woman went to church) it's bizarre..
