For you wick lovers. Just picked up an 87 Thumb that looks like it was kept in a safe. Beautiful quilt and incredible neck, action is laying on the frets, punchy as all get out with the factory EMG's. Check out the back of the headstock, wasnt aware they ever did that! Perfect companion to my 92 dolphin!

what model is that? i have never seen a $$ or any warwick with a maple neck.
It's a Warwick $$ NT Corvette (one of 6 UK limited editions) with a swamp ash body, a AAAA koa top, a 5 piece flamed maple/ovankol neck and satin finished maple fingerboard.
Electonics-wise it has passive MEC music man p/ups and some active electronics that I'm still failing miserably to fathom...
It has such a warm tone, everso happy to have it as my first decent bass
there were two in the shop (electromusic in Doncaster, utter aladdins' cave of a place if you ever get the opportunity to go! 
) with the only difference being the grain of the koa top. I didn't appreciate that the maple neck was such an oddity! It still has the typical ovankol growl though.
I made a shift in the collection... here's the whole thing again plus a new guy!
I swapped my June '96 Flashback 4-string for a June '96 Flashback 5-string with fellow TB'r taiwright. It's totally badass; it has the best Warwick 5-string neck I've ever played. It weighs about 15 pounds, though... Here's a bit better shot:

I really like the Fortress shape on those! Such a shame they don't do them in anything but Rockbass anymore

urm...that was originally priced at £1800ish, though because it was paid in cash, ended up getting it down to around £1500 with free strap/lead/case thrown in for good measure. Gotta love niceguy shop attendants the customer service was second to none, the bloke was very helpful.
But yes, I think I'm going to be ruined for trying new basses for life having played it nearly continually...

quick question! I live in the UK and am finding it near impossible to find a shop that stocks a fitted hard case for my corvette...any advice? I really do have apprehensions in leaving the beauty in the rockbag soft case it came with
There aren't that many fitted cases for Warwicks. Warwick don't do fitted ones. However, their flight case is built like a tank, and if it wasn't so heavy, I would have no need for their super padded gigbag. Now, I also use a Warwick bass and amp.
Do I qualify as a fanboy yet?
