Nice 'Vette, and nice preamp! It looks like it's got an Ash body with a coloured oil finish (burgundy red?), and if so you don't actually need to wax it... just wipe it down with a clean coth.

I'd recommend not using the Warwick wax on the neck... Use something like a lemon or orange oil to keep it clean. I've used a light coating of the Howard Feed n' Wax on the neck and fretboard since it's got a good orange oil base and is much thinner and so doesn't cake up against the frets.

Bringing her to my local shop to have her set up with my Hi Beams and get intonated as there is major neck bow. Mark is booked solid for awhile, and I simply cannot wait any longer to really play her.
I should have it back tomorrow. :hyper:

Nice Vette Gus.
Like Kho said,coloured oil finishes shouldnt be waxed.But you can wax the back of the neck if you like.Some say it makes for a fast neck feel when things get sweaty on stage.I've religously waxed my neck,untill I gave the entire bass a thorough clean up,using lemon oil,which I normally only ever used on the fingerboard.It leaves the neck feeling great in my sweaty hands.

So really? A dry clean cloth on the body? Seems straight forward enough. So you use lemon oil on the neck and the fretboard? Can I ask what kind of lemon oil? Is there a brand that you find works well?
I just want to take care of the bass, and I've never taken wax to the Wick, although I've been tempted to many times - glad I didn't!

This is my 1998 Warwick Streamer LX, Burgundy Red, i changed the nut from the original plastic to a brass one (well, my luthier told me to...). I got it when i was 16 and has since been with me all these years... I just got an SX Jazz Bass a couple months ago and i'm using it a lot, but my Warwick will always be "my bass".
It's funny, but here in Chile during the late 90's and early 00's every bass player seemed to have a Warwick, maybe because the prices were good and there weren't that many other good quality basses available. Also, Jorge Campos, one of the most famous bass players from Chile was a "famous" Warwick endorsee (they constructed a double neck bass just for him) so maybe that's another reason why there were that many Warwicks here. I got mine because i was a BIG Stuart Zender/Jamiroquai fan, in fact i got it in Burgundy Red based on the one Stuart uses on the Space Cowboy video.

+1 to what Gus1894 stated... financing can be a bad thing, so it's probably good you held off!

How's the 'Vette play? Were they able to fix the bow in the neck?

The bow was fixed, but she will need a couple more sessions with the jig, but as of right now she plays like a dream and sounds amazing! I plugged her into my Hartke rig / compressor. Has that growl that I have been itching for all these years :bawl:

For the above thread from Fellini .... Dang! (That's all I can say)
