Has anyone else found that the $$ pickup system EATS batteries? Just had the realisation today that I've managed to go through two 9v batteries in the past couple of months. I had an active bass before and only had to change the battery about once every 6 months...and that was with a fair few gigs and a whole lot of practicing. :confused:

I'll get back to you on that one in 2 months haha, but I do wanna say I've heard a bassist in another band in my area say the same thing.
I'd normally change the batteries every 3 months on my last bass, even if they still had some juice in them.

What brand of batteries do you use?

Dont leave it plugged in while you're not playing it.
On active basses,the input jack acts as an on/off switch for the onboard eq.
MEC preamp draws very little current & one battery should last well over a year with normal use.

I've heard about such an issue: there's a problem in wiring. There was a solution recommended. Try searching Warwick forums.
