I'm no member of the club but I own 2 wicks and I will answer you anyway... lol

You can set the warwick "3d bridge" to the string spacing you want, see their website video's on bass setup in the support section... these are the best bass bridges I've owned and tweak, I love the principe...

For slim jazz style neck Warwick basses vary a lot... I have an old '88 streamer stage II wich has a neck slimmer than my fender jazz bass and a '09 corvette bubinga made in germany that has a pretty slim neck, almost like my fender jazz but a bit wider after the 12 fret, it really depends on the instrument and the era you can have a baseball bat or a slim neck. I tried many when I bought my corvette and some more expensive streamers I tried had a really wider neck. But if you order it from the custom shop you can always have a slim neck option... Even If they are slim they are pretty stable and I haven't any issues with them, I haven't had to tweak them after my initial setup, since I got them a year and a half ago... And I can't say that for the other bass I own...

these bass all sound amazing IMO...

Ya need flatwounds, baby! Daddario chromes or Sadowsky Black Label stainless are good starting points.

I've heard very good reports about the new generation of Rockbasses (They show a W on the headstock but Rockbass on the truss rod cover.)

One missing thing that would have me hold out for the German model is the coil phasing switches, but the basic structure of the $$ is there, so it should sound and feel pretty good. I also like the passive operation mode (pulling the volume out on the German $$). It is truly passive (good test? works without a battery!) Don't know if the Rockbass supports that or not.

Enjoy. My $$5 is a very versatile instrument and built like a brick chithouse. Have clobbered it knocking over on stage twice and have been lucky so far except having to replace strings.

It comes with Warwick Red Label roundwounds, so I think I'll order a set of the Chromes as well as some Pressure wounds, just to experiment.

As to the bass, it's definitely just a "W" on the headstock and not the earlier Rockbass branded model, where they seemed to fine tuning the QC overseas. According to the specs, it's completely passive (no battery at all). I also like that it's only about 8.8 lbs and not as heavy as some of the more serious Warwicks.

Still trying to find a local amp... might just do an Ampeg112 combo to kick around with, but need to do more reading on the amp forum to get up to speed on the latest.

Throwing it to my brethren before I post for the rest of the world to have at... but I am in the market for a backup/new amp rig and that means my seldom used 2006 Warwick Streamer CT (Chrome Tone) is getting put up for trade/trade+$$$/sale. I love my '06 SVT CL, but would be open to other all tube offers or Ultra lightweight power houses (ie MarkBass). Shoot me a pm to keep the club clear of non-sense. But if I don't get any bites expect to see T1000 in the classifieds in the next few days.

ROCK ON WARWICK FAITHFUL!!!

From Pics only, it looks to be in excellent condition. The guy lives hours away by car, so my brain is doing the "rockbass brand new 5-banger vs streamer stage 1 92 4-string travel 2 hrs" argument. I'm going to try to bring him down in price. It is a ridiculous argument to have considering .... its just that I want a 5-banger!

For me, it's a no brainer. But then, I've moved away from 5 strings.

Hey all.
Am I way off on my price for my thumb BO?
I know I will have to negotiate down on price, but I think everyone can see the price I am "going" for. I think I am telegraphing my actions more than a new york mugger in time square regarding the price! Let me know whacha all think!

Hello again, Warwick club!
I've been anxious to finally post here with a 'Wick of my own. Here she is:

She plays AMAZING out of the box, but there's some slight fret buzzing on the lower (1st to 5th) frets on the G string. Besides that, the action is great, the neck is straight, and the fretboard feels amazing.
She's a 20 year old bass, though, and she looks like she's seen better days. I'm sure most of you have noticed the darker spots in the finish and some of the wear elsewhere. There's also quite a few dings and the brass hardware looks like it's tarnishing.
I'm willing to throw lots of money into this bass in order to make it shine. My question to you guys is: how do I do it? :D
I've got some wax that the previous owner included, but will that make the 'dead spots' in the finish come back to life? I'd like to restore it to its original golden hue--do I need to send it off to get it refinished or will the wax take care of it? Also, I've noticed that I can actually feel the wood on the neck-through portion of the bass--is that normal or is that something that will reduce with wax? I don't mind it, I just want to make sure I'm doing everything right. After I figure out how to make the bass shine again, I'll worry about replacing hardware. Any and all advice will help me greatly. Thanks!
