Hey guys, so how long have you guys have had your warwicks? Still play the same as when it was new? Do you baby them, or do they take your abuse well and hold up?
I have a 2006 Corvette $$ 5 string that spent it's first two years in distribution channels...I bought it half off in April 2009.
I carried it around in a Rockbag for most of the time since except when I flew to Chicago for a gig, I put it in a Gator ATA bass case in case I had to check it. Well, they forced me into a gate check on the way out, I was OK for the gig and on the return they put it in the coat closet on board.
When I got home, I pulled it out of the case and the tuning machine for the B fell apart. $20 repair. Thankful that it didn't do that at the gig, but it must have been holding by the hair on my chinny chin chin and I didn't know it. I will now carry a spare tuning machine on gigs with me. Literally takes minutes to fix....easier than a string change.
Then on a couple gigs, I dumped it off the guitar stand and it landed fingerboard first on the edge of the stage hard enough to dent my sadowsky ss flats with the frets. Just needed to change strings. I guess I was pretty lucky.
I guess other than that the roughest handling it's had to experience is me learning how to do setup with a floating bridge and no manual. I got it down now!
I'd have to say, it has held up pretty well all things considered.
The prices a few years ago were never this high for a thumb. Any reason for this?
