I posted this a few pages back, but since then have added an AGC preamp. I have achieved tonal nirvana. 1991 Streamer Stage I. Refinish by Chris Bavaria. I found out that this bass has been in the hands of lots of great Talkbass members. I think it stops here. This is the bass I would save if the house was on fire.
To CarlosRoberto, this bass was in very similar condition to yours. You dont even need to throw a lot of money at it, to get it looking and playing great.

That is probably the easiest thing for me to try first. Mind if I ask - it sounds like you've heard Barts both passively and run through a preamp. Can you describe to me how the tone changes when they are run passively?

Nice, I was thinking the same thing. I have a 4 banger set I never got around putting in and settled to just putting in an active mec PU set into my passive corvette standard.
@diuloma.... Are you running the barden's with the stock preamp or did you change that out too?
