What's the tone like on these???
Any clips by chance?

No Clips, sorry.
It has a pretty diverse tone.
It can go snarly and snotty one minute.
And then get a deeper thumpy tone as well.
All in all a great diverse bass.
Still has the Warwick Original black label strings on it.
This bass has not seen much playtime since it was made.

Hi guys,

I've got a 2001 six string bubinga Corvette Std. I didn't realise this until the other day when I was short a 9v battery and needed to yank one out of the Warwick, but my passive bypass doesn't work without a battery. That is to say that I'm plugged in, the amp is on, but I get no sound.

Now, I'm assuming that pulling the volume knob up IS the passive switch, but I would've also assumed that it would work without a battery since, y'kmow, it's passive!

Is this normal?

Yea this is another one I already regret selling. Sold on here in one day.
It is pretty much the nicest Dirty Blonde I have seen.
BUT?
G.A.S. is a terrible illness man....so off she goes.
Sold it to fund a brand new Mesa PH Cab.
Hope I am happy with my choice once I land the right cab?
This is my last Wick in the collection.
Hope to snag another Wick at some point in the not too distant future.

I didn't care for the bass and mid frequency settings on the MEC. It's very flexible, powerfull, and dead quite. A little adjustment goes a long way. It worked well with the Bartolini pups that I took out and the Joe Bardens.

I remember this thumb, it was the one from Greg (I think?) at Rocket Music.

Below is my first Warwick, had it for 2 months, and I can tell you that I'll have more
It's amazing, what can I say...

I think I need a number for this please...

It's a Corvette Taranis, 07 and it's been sitting at the shop since. Fell in love with the grain on the sandblasted ash body and the ovangkol neck, got a good deal, changed to EADG, had to shim but that's fine, and everything else on it is perfect. It took a while to get used to the MECs but now I learned how to use that.

Anyone around here tried either Delano or SGD pickups in a Thumb?

I'm toying with the idea of dropping either of those brands into my Thumb NT5, and its tough to find any reviews of people who have used them in a Thumb.

Two things I've discovered I don't like about Warwicks... Big necks and $$ pickup layouts. I love my Corvette, but those pickups are always in the way of My thumb!

Then move your thumb!

I generally hook my thumb on the top arch of my Corvette. Might sound like an odd place to put it, but it is supremely comfortable and I feel I get better access to the strings. Don't ask me why, it just kinda happened automatically. When I play my Ibanez, I stick my thumb in the convenient thumb slot on the pickups, but I find this bass harder to play, and the arch is too high to "thumb it!"

Hey man, learn the floating thumb technique....it sets you free!! Much easier to pick up any bass and play pronto.

That has helped me alot with my Corvette. I also sometimes just rest my thump on top of the neck pickup too, it's alittle shallow but not uncomfortable.

I use floating thumb for the ADG strings, but when it comes to the E, I gotta plant it somewhere. I paid more attention to where I put my hand while I was playing today, it wasn't difficult, just different. I guess this is me, breaking out of the Fender mold.
