I'm totally in for making this club my first one. I play a Thumb 4 Bolt-On. Bought it from a friend about a year ago for, which - according to yahoo.com - is something around $790. To me that's totally fine.

Ok, I need some advice, and I figured this would be a good spot to ask. I have a chance to get a 1996 Streamer stage 1 5 string for $1600. From the pic, it looks flawless. This is a big investment for me, and I am asking anyone for advice as for things to look for when I actually see it. I have a Thumb Broadneck 6 that I bought used, and it had some issues that I didnt notice at first, and I am trying to avoid that again. So I am asking 1. is this a good price?(from the research I've done it is) 2. Anything special about that era I should know about? 3. Anything special I should look for (beyond the typical issues like dings and the neck, cracking, ect.)

I've been waiting about a year to get my hands in my first Warwick. And this is my first post on these forums, I hope it will be the first of many. This bass is great to play.

Not an owner, but still... I have this baby in my house at the moment:

I borrowed it from a friend to record the unplugged EP of my band Link Removed. We're gonna do the recordings next Saturday but so far I am already loving this bass. It's loud, it's full, it plays great and the thumb rest is fantastic. I wish I had a Warwick Alien.

I can finally join this club. Picked this up a couple weeks ago. My fretting hand/forearm got a real good workout getting used to the neck. But now I guess I can play any bass comfortably, slim neck or not.

You have active pickups, which always need a battery. The push pull knob is simply a preamp bypass leaving only the pickup pan working.

Anyone have any experience with the Streamer LX LTD 2011?
(blackwood top, maple body, and FB, blackwood blocks)

I'm looking into a 5'er. But have a few questions.

Is the string spacing on these the tight one like the SS2 or the wider SS1? (can't find this info on the W site)

Also, I have no experience with the duncan pre and soapbars...Are these fairly aggressive? Smooth? scooped?

I'm not a fan at all of Clanky basses, and I don't play any metal, super hard rock, or the likes. I like a nice clear tone, without harshness.

I have NO way of playing one of these at a store, so it'll be a sight unseen deal unfortunately.

I've had a thumb 5 and two SSII 5's. I've liked the tone while I had them, but all I know about is the tone of the traditional wenge boards and MEC pups.

Any input would be appreciated.
(I have watched the review on youtube by Ed already :D )
