Hey Crabby, to buy a new Just-A-Nut all brass III it will cost around $150. I have one on my NOS LMT Corvette and it doesn’t go down as low as all the other previous designs for some reason. I see this as an issue my E and B are high at the nut and now I can’t get them lower without a file. This is the only issue I have with it.

You have other options. Danna B Goods the old USA distributer has the latest graphite Just-A-Nut II (in lefty) for 5 strings in stock. They are $32 plus shipping. All brass looks better but I like the graphite ones and they are super easy to replace. I bought 3 and have 2 left and I have an older brass original Just-A-Nut with the screw adjustable mini saddles just in case. Look around on evil bay or buy a brand new brass one but all are easily installed with little effort.

I would have loved to stick with the Warwick strings as they seemed like they might be pretty good and will likely try some DR's at some point but those Fodera's sound interesting! I do love all the tonal options this bass has. But I am so surprised at how much I am loving the big fat neck! It just feels fantastic in my hand and the Ovankol wood is freakin glorious. I know, I'm gushing like an Asian teenage girl at a "Hello Kitty" convention, but what the hell! :)

well i gotta say, i was at crabby`s on friday evening and that wick has a sound; dark and rich and thick.
every tone you could want. i am very glad that he likes it.

If anyone is interested in hearing some recordings using my Dolphin-4 (ovangkol) through my Genz Streamliner 900, I have a few for ya.

We used a direct signal that was Post EQ and a second signal that was miked from my Uber 410. I used Circle K nicel alloys.

You might like this one as well. This our, if you'll pardon the expression, "White-boy Rock" version of the classic rap song Bust A Move. There was so much going on in this one, yet the Dolphin/Streamliner combo delivered a super gritty and punchy tone that just eats through this dense mix. This one was recorded without a miked cab signal, just a post EQ signal with some extra tube drive and a slight bit of distortion.

Hey Buffalo, I really enjoyed those clips. I especially liked Bust a Move. I was smiling the entire time while listening, I'll bet that is a hit when you play it live. I wish I had some clips to share and I also wish more people would share clips on here. I lurk on other "____" clip threads just to hear what other guys are doing, but would love to hear what my other Wick bretheren are doing.

I tell ya, I've been gassing for a Lakland 55-02 for awhile now, but Ibought an old Fortress Masterman in the classifieds here a couple weeks ago cause I was just smitten by it. I love the Wenge neck on it so much that I think I'm going to look for an older Corvette 5 once my funds get replenished.

Hey thanks Ben! You're right about Bust a Move live. Lots of tail bobbin and weavin when we do it live. And the bass line is just so fun to play.

BTW, this is the first time in the 6 to 7 years since I've been playing that I had any sort of clips to share, so it can happen!

There is another song we did where I used the Dolphin and I used my Streamliner post EQ with the gain button for the pre-amp engaged. You wanna talk about some nice tube grind/wick growl? I'll post it once we pre-release it!

I love my Streamer Stage two five so much....probably getting a Streamer Stage one five very soon in trade for another awesome bass
