I just picked up a 96 Fortress Masterman over in the classifieds and I haven't been able to put it down. The Wenge neck on this is incredible. I'll put some pics up when I can set it down long enough to take them!
not sure who's running this club but there hasn't been a single number handed out to new Warwick owners in this entire thread. What gives? We want to join the club and show our pride!
In reading over this it seems that the guy that was keeping up with the numbers doesn't frequent much if at all anymore. A while back it seems that everyone just decided that if you have a Warwick your in, no number needed. So just go ahead and put it in your sig if you want, sort of a non-exclusive, exclusive club!
yeah some of us made the effort to keep numbers going while DW was away, but it's just turned into an unofficial thing these days.
I have just received my first ever Warwick and have been bitten hard! She's a 2006 lefty German $$ 5. I am having so much fun with this tone monster. Just waxed her up and put on a set of Slinkys to try out as the Warwick strings were very old and dead. It was a tight fit getting the low B string to fit in the saddle but I had no other options as I could not find a tapered B string in town. Seems to be playing just perfectly and the slightly lighter guage of strings make the bass super fast while still retaining a very tight fundamental. I am seriously in love!

Beautiful Crabby!!! The true chameleon of the Warwick line as far as tone. It can do almost anything I miss mine.
Well done, Crabby, you've done good for a first Warwick! I have serious GAS for a Corvette $$ right now. Of course, I have no money, so...
These are incredibly versatile basses, so don't forget to spend lots of time trying out all the configurations available through the electronics. This bass will fit basically any genre of music if you know how.

In my garage my cement step has big chips off it from me smashing the end of DR Hi Beams on the E and B to fit my Warwicks pliers are hard on my hands.
To me nothing works or sounds better in my Wicks than black label Warwick strings though...

I've just strung my Corvette 6er with a set of Fodera nickle roundwounds with a tapered B-string. Got 'em from bassstringsonline.com for a good price. The really brought the bass back to life and they sound great from B to C. Highly recommended!
Just purchased a 2007 streamer jazzman 5 string. What a fantastic bass, growl, depth and punch in abundance, pics to follow.....
Thanks guys. I did have to use pliers to squish the B string which actually worked quite well. I would have loved to stick with the Warwick strings as they seemed like they might be pretty good and will likely try some DR's at some point but those Fodera's sound interesting! I do love all the tonal options this bass has. But I am so surprised at how much I am loving the big fat neck! It just feels fantastic in my hand and the Ovankol wood is freakin glorious. I know, I'm gushing like an Asian teenage girl at a "Hello Kitty" convention, but what the hell!

I was a long time MM user, and I too fell in love with the thick neck. I ended up selling my sr5 because it just didn't feel as good to me anymore. I have a pro line and thumb. I'm waiting to find a lefty star bass 5ver and all gas will be gone.
Does anyone know if I could easily replace the plastic nut with a newer brass version 3 nut? If so where would I find such a replacement part in Canada? The biggest Warwick dealer appears to have dropped the line and can't bring in parts anymore 
I broke a little piece off the side of the nut when changing strings. Seems to still work ok but the newer brass ones look so cool!
