Sweet! maddrakkett, you've got a nice collection!

I've been wanting a Corvette fretless! What type of wood is on the fretboard? It looks different than what I've typically seen.

Thanks! It was the look of that fingerboard that captivated me when I first saw the bass in my local Guitar Center. I even called in sick the next day because I couldn't sleep the night before after seeing that bass. I was sick in love and had to buy it!

Anyway, to answer your question, it is a standard tigerstripe ebony, but with a definite strong pattern in the stripe (I call it my "tigerboard" bass). Most of Warwick's tigerstripe ebony is fairly solid black, though I've seen some Thumbs and Corvettes with a bit of a pattern, but nothing like the pattern I was fortunate to find. The bubinga body also has one of the most uniform grain patterns I've ever seen on a Corvette Std. A very sweet instrument after replacing the pickups with a set of Bartolini hum cancelling dual in-line coil J's that give a great "Jaco" sound with using just the bridge pickup. :)

I just put a down payment on a Corvette $$ 5-string in Emerald Green. It has been ordered from Germany, should be here late in May. I'll accept honorary membership until it arrives and I can post pics :D

Big thanks to Rocket Music, they cut me a great deal and were very easy to deal with here on TB.

Got my Warwick a few weeks ago. Love it!

I know that the picture is not what it should be :hmm:
Sorry for that...

It's hard to tell with these poor eyes, but is that fingerboard lined? I have never seen a lined fretless by Warwick. Maybe I just haven't seen many warwicks

Hey! I'm in!

My 10-year old custom ovangkol Warwick Fortress MM, got it new in '98. Everything you see is factory installed, a NOS Kahler was a PITA to find in those days. EMG 35DC with 3-band (sweepable mids) EMG electronics running at 18 volts.

My old workhorse.
