On the Super 300 pedal, how does the bright switch affect the sound?

it adds a bit more cut to the sound and a slight volume boost.

Super 300 came in today. What a tasty pedal! Like others, I'm liking it more than the SV-Pre I had, both in tone and less noisy electronics (in my home at least). This one's a keeper!!

I generally agree. I owned a few in the early 80's (various years/styles), and they sounded different. Also, the coffin cab with dolly sounded different from the fridge cab with towel bar.

All that said, my favorite SVT tones are unforgettable. That amp sounded fine at any volume, but as someone else said early in the thread, my idea of SVT heaven was when I got to crank it up in a big venue so that the power tubes began to cook -- and pushing those 10" speakers near the limit may also have been part of the equation. Same as you I've been able to get close to that magic with pedal alchemy: stacking overdrives, usually. But I love the feature set on the Super 300, the demo indicates that it can get into the hot power tube ballpark, and blessings from JohnK and others helped me decide to make it my first gear purchase of 2021, despite planning on another frugal gear year.

Got my Super 300 a few days ago. It's exactly what I was looking for. Gets dirtier than the Broughton IMO, easier to drive into that grindy SVT sound. I've been through an absolute ton of Preamps, and to earn a place on my board, it has to be something special. This one has a place on my board.

Just got my 300 in. Amazing and lovely pedal. Someone tell me though, which way on the two ultra low and hi toggles is "on"?

I think up is on, but I'll let @Sensei Tim clarify.

I will add though, the Super 300 sounds so good, that I have not been playing my distortion pedals... as much. This is where I currently have things set...
