The owners kit from Pedulla comes with the truss rod tool and the bridge Allen's. $20.
Does anyone know if the stock Bart setup in the Rapture JJ model has a pot in the body cavity for preamp gain adjustment? My Rapture J2 has always been a little more quiet than all my basses. My Lakland has an internal pot to adjust the volume of the preamp and I was wondering if the Raptures had the same thing. Getting to the electronics requires taking off the strings and removing the entire pick guard; if there isn't anything in there I don't want to bother.

AAA Arctic Night – 19mm – Chrome - Plain F board with side line markers option.
Should be ready by February at the latest!
I first encountered Pedullas at the ’78 NAMM show.
I spent a lot of time at that booth and knew it was for me!
The basses at that show were of this style:
Between the show and my ordering, Mike had changed the body to the now familiar shape.
He also switched from DiMarzzios to Barts and offered them to me, but I wanted the sound I heard at NAMM.
(Also I was already an unlined snob back then)
Anyhow my two Pedullas:

Guitar tech extraordinaire Mike Koontz performed the ungodly act in the mid 80s.
Aside from some self-absorbed artsy stuff, I actually used it in a country trio faking steel guitar parts!

The row of mini toggles are pickups selector, series/parallels and a phase switch.
You my notice some funky patches on the side. That's foam from the Calzone road case that chemically imbedded into the finish.

I just got my latest acquisition a couple of weeks ago, the 1987 lefty Buzz mentioned in an earlier post. It's in very good shape for a 27 year old bass except for two things: faded sunburst and my real concern, the lines on the board.
It would be impossible to show in a photo as we're talking thousandths of an inch. Over the years I believe that the ebony of the fingerboard has cured a little and the lines have started to protrude ever so slightly through the polyester so that the board is not perfectly flat. I can feel them with my fingers and I can here them affecting the notes. The polyester is not broken at all and in fact, aside from that, appears to be in pretty good shape.
I'm thinking of taking it to my local guitar tech and having him lightly sand and buff the fingerboard to level those lines. Assuming this hasn't been done before and this bass still has the normal amount of finish on the board, does any one know if there's enough finish there to do that once? It mentions this in the Pedulla bass manual in the troubleshooting section as a solution.
I contacted Pedulla and Christine gave me the typically unhelpful "can't tell you unless you send the bass to us" answer. Sending the bass back and forth from Canada is expensive and time consuming and could trigger a second tax charge coming back.

Mine came back from them a few months ago. My fingerboard finish had worn through in a few spots on my 1999 lined PentaBuzz. While it was there another $300 changed the color and since I did that I had them change the tuners and bridge to black from gold it is a brand new bass tuned and adjusted so low and true I actually raised the action because I like to dig in a little. The new finish is nothing but an attention getter and I now have the bass I always wanted. Less than 2-1/2 weeks from Miami to New York and back. I would not hesitate to do it again if I get another bass needing any of that.

cost me over 500 round trip to get mine done but it was well worth it. they don't realize that Canadians have a bitch of a time with the border and such.
