Hey joebar,

Crabby was mentioning to me that a friend of his had sent his bass to Pedulla to have a refinish done and that there were "issues"... Is that friend you? And if so, is that something that you care to share?

And yes, I'm quite concerned about sending it down there. Actually, more concerned about it coming back in to Canada. I have a dream of getting a bass refinished such that it's in virtually new condition and having CBSA take a look at it and take a look at the Pedulla price list and say.... hmmmm... that'll be 12% of $5200 please... make that $624... on top of the tax I already paid when it came across the border the first time.

...and the dream becomes a nightmare...

Make sure their invoices state the serial number and the year. Christina always titled her emails with the serial numbers. I'm sure if you requested her to do that she would. They are bend over backwards great to deal with.

On my PentaBuzz, I'm using the Pedulla tapered nickels and usually 80% bridge with 80%+ Bass and either 80% or 30% Treble usually with the mid boost switch ON. As a note, my ThunderBolt 6 used to get DiAddario XL's and that has Soapbars and the old Bart electronics but as a note when I got my PentaBuzz redone, I ordered a couple of sets of their Nickel Taperwounds and slapped them on without touching the set up and they just turned that thing into a growl monster. I love it sounds acoustically like a new Fender Am Dlx 5 with the maple neck that I always seem to grab at GC or SAM. Electronics on mine is was off due to the Soapbars and the old tone blend vol setup I have on that. Hope this helps some. Freddels has a new MVP 6 (drool, drool in Arctic Midnight) that might be closer to yours but the 6's are JJ or Soapbars only. He might be able to shed some wisdom with you!

Sunny South Florida sounds so much better than ice cold Philly... it was 2 degrees yesterday morning, yes two! Though it did hit a scorching 15 by 3 PM...

Anyone here use flatwounds on their Pedulla? I have a six string Thunder Bolt that I've been using DR Lo Riders on, but I like a lot of old jazz as well as modern hip hop. I've ordered some Chromes in order to try them out. Worst cast scenario is that I don't like them and I put the DRs back on.

I have that exact same instrumment, right down to the colour! Mine's a 96. Your's is in better cosmetic shape then mine, but it is my main gigging bass and it growls like an angry P-bass on steriods!

Thanks! It's a very easy playing bass. I'm bonding with it pretty well so far. It looks blue in the pic, but it's actually a very green "teal" color, about as green as the grass behind it. Quite lovely.

I put hot pink strings on mine and with the colour of the bass, it really stands out!
