Not really a secret. Lots of us use rounds on fretless. There is nothing like them!Sounds good, roundwounds are the best-kept secret in bass at the moment, they'll take the tone of any instrument and made it sound better.
TI’s rule on fretted. I’ll take nickel rounds on my fretless though.Same. Tried some TI Jazz Flats and hated them. Not so much the sound, but the feel. Weird. Smooth and sticky at the same time.
Reply to my own question FWIW. I suspect the medium guage is more common, but I got a set of the lights, 40 -120.Has anyone tried the DR nickle Lo-riders "Lite" guage 5 string, with the 120 B?
Anyone have an audio clip of fretless with flatwounds? I’m curious to hear what they sound like.
Not flatwounds, but I recorded two songs with the silky smooth LaBella Copper Tapewound strings (they're now on my Dimension).
1996,Helo,

Did anyone grab the "history" page of serial numbers and dates from Michael's Web site? I'm didn't think to do that and the site is blacked out now.
