Found this at Atomic Music in Beltsville Md. yesterday. Listed around 3500. Needs some TLC, nut needs to be addressed, some fret leveling. I suspect it is a refin, as well, not showing much wear and the finish is an odd satin. But Atomic always will work deals out, best folks ever there. Just figured I'd share. If anyone inquires talk to Luis or Eric and tell them Doug K sent you (been a customer for 25+ years, the place is amazing).

Yeah, very nice and sweet looking MVP 6! Definitely those ones equiped with the "Pedulla Custom" Bartolini J/J pickups sound totally awesome to me. Here's my '92 Candy Blue with the stock J/J barts as well and the stock (at the time, now discontinued) Bartolini TC-4 preamp. it plays and sounds like a dream!
That is gorgeous. I toured with an MPV 6 around ‘90 in black with JJ, would like another one for sure.
Just wanted to update this, I reached out to John Clarity for a quote- I had been in touch about their work and they left something important out of the initial conversation. They post pictures of fretless fingerboards endlessly- but it's bait. It turns out they try to sell you a DIY kit and instructions and materials instead of doing the work themselves! Total BS. Nothing wrong with DIY but for fingerboard care like this I'd like a professional. Anyway, avoid.
Why are so many Pedullas missing the truss rod cover? I've seen so many MVPs without one.
I bought a 2011 case queen Rapture 4. I think the strings were the originals. I tried to restring it with Ernie Ball Cobalt 2734s. I snapped two E (100) strings where the taper starts to wind onto the tuner. I use these same strings on a ThunderBass and a ThunderBolt. It seems that the bridge to tuner is a quarter inch less on the Rapture than the Thunders, so the taper bends and snaps. I had a set of Fender 7250s that went on fine. I am disappointed.
I like the Cobalts because the string volumes are fairly well balanced and they play well on my other Pedullas.
Have any of you had problems with Raptures and the E string?
Any advice on strings, specifically for Rapture 4's?

As promised, a before picture and a few after pictures. I put on a new headstock decal, new tuners, new knobs, new bridge and a new wiring harness and preamp (all Bartolini, of course). Lastly, a thin gloss clearcoat was added.
Almost forgot! The truss rod cover was clear plastic which would originally have bern painted black on the back. Whoever stripped the bass also stripped that, too. So, I cut a new maple truss rod cover to better match the current finish.

I have been searching out info on how the Thunderguts switch is supposed to be wired... neither of the schematics on Bartolini's site seem to cover the switch... (Attached pic of my 2 and the 2 schematics from Bartolini...

Back in 1995 I took a trip to California and stopped in at the LA Bass Centre as I had been looking for a new 5-string bass. After playing a few different instruments, some fairly expensive, I found myself particularly drawn to the Pedulla Rapture 5. There was something about the combination of ergonomics, the sleek neck, the comfortable downsized body, the aesthetics, and the tone... it felt great to play and it spoke to me. Stopped in again in 1996 and solidified my interest in the Rapture.
When I finally had the opportunity to buy a new 5-string in 1997 I decided to order a Rapture 5. The question was which Rapture 5, the single soapbar or the J2 model? My recollection from the Bass Centre wasn't entirely clear on the pickup configuration, but I figured it was probably the original RB-5 single pickup model because the J2 was introduced somewhat later. So, I ordered a cherry sunburst RB-5 which arrived with some nice natural flame in the maple body, even though this was not an available option at the time (originally, the Rapture was intended to be more entry level, without options like the higher end instruments, though that changed when wider neck spacing, maple fingerboards, etc... became available, and prices went up too).
That RB-5 has been my main bass ever since. However, for many years I wondered what I'd been missing with the J2, so I found a used one in Arizona and brought it back to Canada on a lengthy road trip in 2014; while it feels fairly similar to play, it does have a different voice, or perhaps a different set of tones it can produce from the two pickups. There's something simple, solid, and focused, about the sound of the single pickup RB-5, sort of in the ballpark of StingRay and P-Bass, yet smoother, more refined. It has a clear voice that sits nicely in a mix, and the Q-tuner brought out a lot of the upper overtones that were rolled-off by the original Bartolini humbucker.

I got to play that buzz and MPV, those are absolutely killer, as I'm sure the Rapture's are. That buzz especially, a total classic (I'm biased toward buzz basses).
