I assumed the DRs were just too long. I guess this means I can use any Ernie Balls as they should be the same length.
Try Ken Smith Taperwounds. They come in Nickel and Stainless Rounds. They’re they closest to Pedulla strings that I’ve found and I’ve got those on almost all of my basses except my Turner Renaissance and my uprights.

I could use a little help with what the value of this thing might be as it was purchased a while ago. Also, I love this bass but I've had a recent offer from a local artist for $6k - question is - do it or NOOOOOO!!??? ;-)
The bass was commissioned by Almir Crnovic from ROCK KO FOL, a trio out of Bosnia & Herzegovina. His name is on the headstock along with the truss rod cover where "Limited Edition" is written.
I'll be posting a few more - MVP, Rapture, and 2 4 String Buzz Basses.

Stupid question maybe, but I'm from the Netherlands so most of what I see here in shops is metric: does anyone know where I can get the tiny bridge saddle allen screws (in black) for a 90s Pedulla bridge? The previous owner tried metric allen keys and has worn them out.
My 1990 Buzz has a Schaller Roller bridge, which Schaller still makes. If that is what you have, you should be able to source them through a Schaller dealer, or via the company support contact.

Back into Pedullas- last time I owned one was 1990-ish and it was a black MVP6. @Pepper Bass was kind enough to let me have a spin on a few of his, and even kinder to let me take this beauty into my care. I haven't played this much daily in many years- this particular bass has a very shallow neck profile, way more than the others I've played, and seems to be the biggest factor in the "limited" run design. And that brings me to a question that search did not help me find, and am sure has been addressed: when it is time to refinish the fingerboard on a Buzz, who do you go to? With the shop closed, there has got to be someone doing this work. The manual gives the coating 2-6 years depending on playing style (would think it would be much longer in reality). Thanks, as I go though the hundreds of pages here...
It will last much longer if you use nickel strings (or even longer when you use flats) and you have a proper technique (ie if you're not doing the up and down vibratos with stainless roundwounds). I had my old one recoated with a thick epoxy layer and it turned out fine. A bit more mellow than the original coating but not something you'd notice in a bandmix.
Thanks! I'm basically using the same gage nickel strings they shipped with, and have developed, proper technique. But I'm gonna burn through this at some point, and I'm really hoping to be able to get it serviced properly. Also, in case it suffers the separation of polymer from fingerboard that some do (a known factor).

Mark Florio has my pentabuzz at the moment so I can't yet comment on the workmanship. But I can say he has been easy to work with and also that a refin is a slow process, applying a thin coat, letting it dry, repeat. So don't expect a fast turnaround.
I have another buzz that will need attention and intend to contact Gerhard later this year as he is closer to me.

I was also recommended John Clarity, who repairs and builds, although he does a different approach from the original. He responded to my query right away, and is taking instruments for repair currently.
