The Pedulla Club!

This bass was listed as $0.99. I noticed that not only does the bridge look like a replacement, the electronics do too. If you look the fourth knob is pretty close to where the "thunderguts" switch is. Plus the switch is missing. What does everyone else think?

Here is the link.

yeah, i asked him if it even had the thunderguts switch and he said as far as he knew nothing had been done to it but that he would take a pic of the electronics for me if i wanted...i didn't take him up on it though cuz i have no money anyway :) I guess it was a church owned bass.

Hey kids...

I think it's legit (and if you have any interest you should check w/Christine to make sure it hasn't been stolen, then bid immediately).

The ETB5 (#7031) I just bought has the same knob configuration & no switch. The knob closest to the bridge is a treble boost/cut; the one next to it, near the edge, does the same for bass; next up toward the neck is a pickup pan, and then the master volume. There are 3 modules in the cavity (haven't identified them individually). The soapbars are similar. This one - somewhat newer, by its serial # - has a nicer bridge than mine. Mine has the bridge w/small holes on the rear plate through which you've got to thread the strings. This one is the heavier version with slots through which you drop the strings.

The guy's got 100% positive feedback and has sold at least a few instruments over $1000...

Best wishes to all

I've seen a lot of Thunderbolts with that "do-it-yourself" mod. They want to add active treble and bass but can't figure out the Thunderguts wiring.

I've been gassing for a Thunderbass and there is a great one for sale locally so i need to sell my rapture in order to afford it! So if anyone is interested in my gorgeous Rapture 2000 now's your chance. Better hurry before i change my mind!

Just teasing:):)

p0k - so where's the new thunderbass? How does it play? Strings? Potential upgrades? Are you currently Pedulla-less?

I just noticed the sale thread for your rapture - given your future regrets, I definitely would have kept it, and just owned 2 Pedullas. I hope it works out for you, and looking forward to a detailed analysis of your new thunderbass & pictures to follow!

Best,

Ian (Chebass88)

I have a confession to make. After i sold my rapture and my P5 i was on a hunt for a thunderbass, and I have a couple i could have grabbed for a reasonable price, but then when i realized how much cash i had on hand i started looking at the classifieds and saw so many great basses available in my range. I actually ended up buying a Sadowsky NYC Standard 5. I had never tried a sad, and have always heard people rave about them so i decided to take the plunge. It was available at a great price so i know that if i don't like it i can still sell it and probably get back more than I paid. If that happens i'm sure i'll be buying a Thunderbass :) As of now though all i have is my beloved MVP 5 and a Sadowsky on the way. I regretted selling the rapture as soon as i had it boxed up! lol. Don't worry though i don't see myself ever selling my MVP (unless its for another pedulla of course).

I've been playing a Pedulla Thunderbass since 1995 (there is a picture of it with my Carvin 6 string frettless and my bass rig in the Team Trace Elliot Thread) , and I'd like a number for the Pedulla Club if you'd be so kind.:bassist:Other basses that I used to play in chronilogical oreder include a Wahburn/Status , Ibanez Soundgear , 72 Fender Jazz Bass , 76 Rickenbocker 4001 , BC Rich Warlock (My Metal Phase) , and my first Bass was a Max (Looked like a fender-Just a cheapie begginer bass My Mom bought for me for Christmas in 1985). Thanks , Pedulla Player (You'd have to pry my Pedulla out of my cold dead hands!!)

Welcome to the club! You should really post a pic in this thread too though so we can all enjoy looking at your bass :)

I only recently entered the world of Pedullas (picked up the Rapture back in November, the red TBolt in Jan, and the burst TBolt about 3 weeks ago) and sorry I didn't try one out years ago (been playing since 85). I was a die-hard Carvin user (I still love my LB75/mahogany+flame top/ with barts & my Icon walnut) and didn't have much interest in anything else (though I do remember drooling over some of the adverts I saw for the Thunderbass). Now my red Tbolt has become my number 1 - damn those necks are FAST - and some very nice growl!

Envincibal:

Your basses are incredible looking. I also really like the photography skills & background - it really makes the brilliant colors of the basses stand out. It's also neat to hear how quickly you became addicted & that there's another Pedulla player in the Philadelphia area (I'm in Merchantville, NJ).

Have you seen the Pedullas at Bass Specialties up in Ben Salem? There are some really nice ones there!

Best,

ian
