Does it have serial number starting with "ET-XXXX"? or "T-XXXX" ?
I heard that ET's with "Exotic Top"(Birsdseye Maple, Bubinga, Cocobola, Lacewood, Quilted Maple, Zebra, etc) and E's with Flame Maple (AA, AAA, or AAAAA) all the way from the top through to the bottom/back.
Mine has Cocobola top but starting with "T".
I have known it as "ET5", though.

Peacock Blue Pentabuzz - formally a MVP 5 (#2089)

This was the first nice bass I bought after high school. I played the crap out of it for many years. When I started getting other basses I kinda stopped playing it. Then about 6 years ago I sent it back to Pedulla to convert it to a fretless and update the preamp and refinish it.

For some reason even after getting it back I didn't use it a lot. However, I just tried it through my new Tecamp Puma 1000 w/ Phil Jones 8B cab and I'm hearing some subtleties to this bass I never heard with other rigs I've owned. I think this bass needs a really high-fi rig to get the most out of it.

Both my ThunderBolt 5 w/Cocobolo top and ThunderBass 6 have serial numbers that begin w/"T"; I don't think Mike uses S/Ns that include "E" - but you can shoot Christine a quick note- [email protected] - and have the answer PDQ...

My Thunderbass starts with "ET", then a 4 digit serial number, then "USA", so it's definitely possible to have an E.

Just curious...

would anybody be interested in trading a 19mm Pentabuzz for my 17.5mm Penta. Mine's mint w/ practically mint case, so I'm gonna be very picky , and I'm totally in love with it. But, w/ me ALSO being a Lakland addict, 19mm makes better sense and would make transitions easier.

If you have a 21 year old MVP4, that has completely original parts and hasn't been modified even slightly (and is a one-off custom colour), would it be worth more as a collector's item than one that has been modernized and/or modified?

Honestly, I don't think Pedulla's really increase in value with age. For some reason used Pedulla's just don't go for as much as they should on the used market.

On another note, I just traded my 1990 MVP 5er...I am Pedulla-less at the moment! Don't worry though I'm still going to stay and give out numbers. I WILL own another one at some point. I just got an offer I couldn't refuse on another Skjold.

I believe you've done a great job with this thread, and I'm glad you plan to continue.

Best of luck acquiring another Pedulla. I just love my ET5. I'd hate to ever part with it.

Oh well, I'm not selling this crazy bass for decades anyway.

The day I bought it, I also tried out a Warwick ProM Streamer5 (which was what I went to the shop to buy), and a 12 year old Stingray, .... the Pedulla absolutely KILLED them! It made them both feel and sound like toys.

The only bass that I tried that compared was a 1986 Fodera Monarch, owned by the same guy who sold me the Pedulla.
