The Pedulla Club!

Here's my Pedulla Buzz Deluxe (fretless)

Apologies for the poor pic quality!

Do I get a Club #? ;)

I'd say that's a great price if it's in good condition. A new one lists for $4695. If you managed to get 30% off that, you'd still be looking at $3287. Make sure the trussrod tool is included and be sure to check out the end of the trussrod-make sure it is not stripped. This really shouldn't be an issue, but it wouldn't hurt to check. Pedulla uses a proprietary trussrod tool (which is actually an autoharp wrench). This tool MUST be used to adjust the trussrod if needed. Some people end up losing the tool, or they take the bass to a shop for repairs/adjustments, and if the shop is not familiar with Pedullas, they use the wrong tool and end up stripping out the trussrod.

its brand new, so I guess that's a good price - are there different *grades* (and prices) depending on the woods used?

No. You can check out the Pedulla price list on their web site at:

You can also tell how old the bass is by checking the serial number on their web site as well. If it's been in the store for a while, you may be able to get an even better price, although that's a good one to start with.

yeah, if it's at GC try to haggle with them. see if they will budge on the price a bit...i mean it may be brand new but it is in the store so people have played it.

on another note, i just put sadowsky flats on my thunderbolt...WOW. i'm loving the tone so far! and all the issues i was having with rattling strings and buzzing and intonation seem to have disappeared! its like magic.

Dallas GC has a Rapture JJ 5 string for $2069. It's black, exactly how I would want it, but I discovered 19mm spacing is too wide for me. I guess my Gibson must be 17mm. Anyway, my wife would kill me if I bought anything, for a while. But at least I know what I'm looking for now. I will get into this club, some day.

in my opinion its much better to buy a pedulla used...i'm not sure why but on the used market the prices are MUCH lower. you can sometimes get a rapture for under $1000.

Hey all,

I've recently added some upgrades to my 2006 Pedulla Thunderbass & wanted to share with the Pedulla club (well, everyone on TB!)

The additions include:
Bubinga tuner keys by THG Knobs
A custom ebony ramp - I know it is off center - It's primarily due to my zeal to take photos & I need more double sided tape (I ran out in the middle of taping). It bothers me enough that it will be fixed soon.

Before additions, as purchased in Sept 2007 (Photo by Guitar Center, Cherry Hill, NJ)

A bit bright, but I like this one:

The only thing left is to order a bubinga truss rod cover from Pedulla (I have to match the tuners and knobs!). I hope you enjoy!
