I've recently added some upgrades to my 2006 Pedulla Thunderbass & wanted to share with the Pedulla club (well, everyone on TB!)
The additions include:
Bubinga tuner keys by THG Knobs
A custom ebony ramp - I know it is off center - It's primarily due to my zeal to take photos & I need more double sided tape (I ran out in the middle of taping). It bothers me enough that it will be fixed soon.

The only thing left is to order a bubinga truss rod cover from Pedulla (I have to match the tuners and knobs!). I hope you enjoy!

Beautiful bass. I ordered some knobs and tuners from THG back in september and still haven't seen them. I've e-mailed Roger at THG several times and although he responds , still no tuners or knobs. If you don't mind me asking, how long did yours take?
Knobs - less than a week (I suppose they were in stock).
Tuners - a bit longer, something like 6 - 8 weeks, but Roger informed me that his order log was backed up. I paid for them at the time of order, though. If I ever have any more basses that can use wooden modification - THG is the place to go for me!

The deed is done... The Pedulla is in the mail...

Side Note: I will be using the Pedulla exclusively on the album I am recording in June... One song will be a Warwick (fretless).

I've had the same problem with Roger.. I put my order back in february and paid for it then. Every month that I email him I get the same thing "Oh I'll have those to you by the end of this week..." Well we're about to go into June soon and still no knobs. I queried some of the other tb'ers and one guy said he waited 11 months for his! I sent him basically an ultimatum email today - either give me a reasonable date and stick to it or send me back my cash..."
Hey Pedulla people - does anyone have a used 4 string MVP or Thunderbass they would like to sell? I have been searching high and low for months now and have come up with nothing! I know NJ Guitar and Bass has one MVP 4 and one Thunderbass 4 but the MVP is in a blue/green finish and the Thunderbass is in some sort of a pink, neither of which do a thing for me!
I'm looking for a later model in excellent condition. Any leads would be appreciated. Thanks!

i would just keep watching ebay and craig's list. they actually come up fairly often. i'll let you know if i see any.
It's not an MVP or Thunderbass, but I have a single-HB Rapture 4 I'm thinking of selling and I live in Berkeley. It's a '94 Candy Apple Red/rosewood with some wear but it's in excellent playing condition. PM me if interested.

you may have already seen this, but this seems like a good option...although it doesn't have the newer electronics with the treble and bass controls.

I will, you have no idea how long (5 years) I have been waiting for an instrument of this caliber....

Curious how you all set the knobs on your Thunderbasses, and what kind of music you play? I play mostly jazz and worship band, and I had been setting every thing mostly flat (in the middle) with Thunderguts off, but the last week or so I've began experimenting with settings, and would love some ideas.
well i have a 'Bolt, not a 'Bass, and i have the 3 knob config with the tone control instead of treble/bass, but i also play mostly worship stuff (some of which is fairly rockin'), and i usually keep the tone knob about 75% full and i generally have the thunderguts ON...although i think i may start keeping it off and only putting it on for certain songs. i also usually have both pickups on full, but will occasionally blend a bit more toward bridge or neck depending on the feel i'm going for.
Based on my experience and lots of experimenting, I find that the Thunderguts is most useful for cutting through a crowded live mix, especially above the din of a couple screaming Marshalls. With 'guts on and the bass control boosted, the sound is positively massive, and can get away from you if you aren't careful (this is a powerful EQ with a big dynamic range). With Thunderguts on and the bass/treble rolled off, you'll have a very mid-biting sound. With your pickup selector set to the bridge, you can easily find a burpy Jaco kind of tone in there.
Lately I've been digging on the "'Guts off" mode for my home noodling...these basses essentially have TWO built-in preamps - one for the aggressive bite, the other for a more mellow classic Jazzy sound - and haven't needed a huge aggressive tone too much of late. But it's good to know it's there! Lots of flexibility. Love the design.
