Here's my 1994 Buzz

Currently fitted with an ACG filter pre-amp. IMO the best pre-amp for fretless tone.

That thing is just stunning. Those basses imo have the best fretless tone around, aside from the tone Bakithi Kumalo got with his Washburn!

I was taking a walk down memory lane today, and pulled out my old NTJ CD. I used my Pedulla SB4 on most of this album, and the my '78 P-bass with a Sadowsky outboard preamp on the rest (except for one song with my fretless). I bought this bass new in 1995 while I was recording Not The Joneses first album. It quickly became my workhorse bass, and I gigged regularly with it until 1997 (when I left the band to go to medical school). This bass is the best ergonomic bass I have ever played. It is perfectly balanced, weighs just over 8lbs, and has a super fast neck. I have never had any problems with the neck. It really plays like a dream.

i am thinking about changing the bridge and tuners to black.. any input on this from anyone?

i would definetely contact pedulla to get replacements....do they sell replacements anyone know?

Yup, I'm the lucky guy. I'll post pics of my new Hexabuzz when it comes in. Peacock blue, black hardware, 19mm spacing, Soapbars, Unlined fingerboard, AAA flame. In the mean time count me in with my MVP-6, 19mm, tobacco sunburst. Sorry it's such a bad picture. I'll take a few of both basses when the Hexa comes in.

Thanks for the kind words about the Buzz Chris2112!

Unfortunately these days I'm using the Gus more often as it has more 'weight' on the lower notes which suits the songs we're doing at the moment. Doesn't quite 'sing' as much in the upper registers as the Buzz so I'm thinking of putting an ACG pre-am in the Gus as well. If I was recording, I'd probably use both and blend them so that the Buzz just added a bit of sparkle to the top end.

Hey all,

These are some GREAT basses! I'm a sucker for those ET5s. I just bought some straplocks for my Pedulla - now I can use my favorite strap on all 3 basses! It was nice to return to it after using my Fender PBass for a couple weeks. That neck is so slim!

Is it possible to take a tour of the Pedulla factory? I will be attending a wedding in VT in June, and wanted to stop at Pedulla on the way back to NJ. Has anyone ever done this? Should I just call them up? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

P.S. I got engaged this weekend, and on the way out to dinner to celebrate, my fiancee mentioned "I guess I'm on the hook to buy you a new Pedulla..." to which I replied, "You don't have to do that - I've already got a perfect Pedulla. Of course, if you really wanted to, I could certainly use a Thunderbolt ET5 with 19mm spacing, with gold and wood hardware!"

Hey Chebass,
Congrats on getting hitched!

I live about an hour from Mike's shop. I've been there a couple of times to have my Pedullas serviced. Both times I was there, it was just Mike and an assistant. It's not a real big place and he's a busy guy. I would certainly call ahead and ask. Mike is a real nice guy and really cares about his customers and the product he puts out. I'm sure he would be happy to accommodate you.

Yes, I often use flats on my PJ Series II. Most recently, TI jazz flats. They sound great, as you would expect!

The Series II is passive, so I can't vouch for flats on an active Pedulla. Can't think of any reason why they wouldn't sound awesome.

Edit: Any particular questions about the combination?

I love Pedullas; wish I still had my MVP. I traded it for a Wal Custom and regretted it soon after. I rang the store to buy it back sometime later and had missed it by a week.
