The 'perfect pair' challenge

I believe that I now own the perfect pair of basses.

This is based on:

1. Tonal range - from the classic grunge of the T40 through to the extreme hi-fi capability of the Cirrus 6 (and including the complete range in between)
2. Ease of playability of both the 4 and the 6
3. Looks (yes I know that looks are very subjective)
4. Value for money - the pair cost me $1450
5. Build quality - (living in the real world, where exotics will always be only a dream)

Please feel free to disagree.

Here is a perfect pair!!! Aside from what my wife is packing up top...

One fretted and one fretless...and for only $100 more than what you paid for yours!

I can find any sound i want, and the difference between the fretted and fretless sounds are all there too obviously, there is also next to no difference switching between them as the necks are the same dimentions. Thanks to its onboard 3 band EQ and dual humbuckers, the tonal range is everything i need!

I've got matching carvin LB76s (a fretted and a fretless) and for me, they are a great pair, although I wouldn't say they can get all the tones I like. But if 2 works for you...

Perfect,(for me) cause I've got Motown to Jaco onboard, they are b-u tiful, and the one on the left is the only fretless Scheff in existance and therefore perfectly unique.

I notice that opposed to your pair, most of the others are matching basses, with differences in pu style or neck. I, too, have a matched pair that's perfect for me right now. It's a matched pair of Warwick FNA Jazzman 5-strings; one fretless and one fretted. The sound, presence and quality of both basses is awsome, and the reason I like two similar, (well, actually exactly alike except for the neck frets), is that it's an easier transition back and forth instead of dealing with different width necks, or lengths, or weights, etc. That's what works for me and makes mine "perfect". Not the same for everyone, though...

It's an oil finish with quite a few miles on it. Aside from just a few spots the finish is in great shape actually. It's just a case of the same player with the same technique playing the bass over a number of years.
