The PRS Club

My new orange tiger Gary Grainger 5. I was so impressed I just ordered one in Emerald with maple neck. I'm told it might be an eight month wait. The GG5 feels like it was custom-made for my hands. It convinced me to get rid of my two Foderas and my Ken Smith BSR5. BTW, it's a non-Ten Top.

I built this 12/6/1 Greenboy earlier this year and paired it, for the first time this month, with my Grainger 5 for a gig. I got an awesome sound out of the cabinet and the Grainger just sat nicely in the set. I actually removed the batteries to force me to play it in passive mode, since all of my basses are active, but only my Grainger can function without the batteries. I used my Eden WTDI and my Bass Envelope to add color.

Wow, the basses here are just gorgeous! My Kestrel is very humbled with the company in this Club. That said, I have one and would like to be a Club member, nonetheless!

Here is "Red" of the Red, White and Blues! (And a shameless plug for my Kestrel NBD article... NBD - 2014 PRS SE Kestrel metallic red)

I have to say, I am very surprised that the Kestrel and Kingfisher have not gained a lot of traction out there. They are really excellent basses in their price range. I think it may be anti-2+2 bias, although I clearly feel the opposite. :D

I whole heartedly agree with you on this. I have the same Kestrel and I absolutely love it. It is a bass that I will never part with. Beautiful action and sound!. Anyway, you own #7 CTBassGuy and WELCOME to the club!!

Hey y'all! I just picked up this GG 4 this week, and I gotta tell ya, it's worth every penny. (Bought it used, but still...)
We've gotten to know each other pretty well over the last two days, and I totally get the hype.
Played a 10-top 5'er model at Chicago Music Exchange last September, and fell in love. Sold a whole bunch of stuff to finance this, but it was worth it! (Bit of spring cleaning too)
Arrived at the office, and all of my coworkers were in awe.
Don't know if it'll ever get to leave the house, but it's definitely my new #1 at home!
All of the other basses in this thread are beautiful, so I'm just happy to be here! :)

Man, I'm digging my new Kestrel. Neck Thru construction. Hipshot hardware throughout. Here I am at our last gig with it. I haven't touched any of my other basses since she arrived 2 months ago.

Edit: What I love most about the Kestrel and Kingfisher is that you rarely see them in the wild. One of the best kept secrets in the bass world imho.
