I think it was that ridged aluminum 5-string that was on eBay for, like, 30 seconds before someone BIN'd it. There's some discussion about it at the Reverend Basses forum.

I didn't see that after going over there and poking around some; if you can find a link, I'd be interested in that.
I just saw that bass there yesterday and thought about posting a pic of it here or something; I'd never seen the corrugated aluminum before. Very retro.

I have those EMG's in a warmoth J5 I just got.
So far, I'm not so impressed.

It does make me wonder why someone would buy a cool retro-looking bass, pull out the existing awesome pickups, then put in pickups that don't (to me) seem to fit either the look or sound of the bass.
Very strange. The buyer got a great deal on it though. I'd probably drop in a set of Aeros or Nordys if it were me.

According to the owner, that black button on the body is a thumbrest. In another thread there he took a peek under it and discovered it's also being used to cover some damage ("crack/dimple") to the amazing top.
I hadn't peeked at the Reverend site for a while, but I found out something interesting about the Brad Housers. In another thread, Joe Naylor chimed in and said the only difference between the BH models is that the neck pickup is 1/2" closer to the neck on the later models, and the pickups are the same, whether they have exposed poles or not. Other than that, they're identical. I think mine is one of the earlier ones (I can check for sure after I get it back from Mal tonight), as it has the earlier pickups (poles).
In any event, if I could move the pickups on my BH5, I'd move the bridge pickup on it about 1" closer to the bridge, which might well have made it one of the best passive 5-strings ever made IMO.
I thought it was funny calling it a thumb rest. You'd have to have really long fingers!

Did you find out if they have black pickup covers for 5-string pickups, too? I've been thinking of trying a black pg with my 5L but would need black pup covers for it to work.So, Reverend had black J pup covers in stock...nice

I have a black PG for a 4-string JJ 'fish that I bought from Reverend for $20 just a few weeks ago. Did you ask if they still had some in stock?
I haven't used it but I have kept it with an eye towards maybe someday building a whole new wiring harness for it so that I can switch my 4-banger from PJ to JJ (or XL if I wire it that way) really quickly.

Dang. I probably snagged the last one.
If you really end up needing it, I could maybe sell you my black one. In all likelihood, I will be keeping my 4-string Reverend as a PJ, and thus will probably not use the new black pickguard I bought any time soon.
OTOH, I bought it so that I could switch the bass to JJ if I wanted to do so, and I'm still considering the wiring harness idea. If I had one built, it would probably take less than 10 minutes to convert from PJ to JJ, and I may end up wanting it as a JJ some day down the road . . .
FWIW, I briefly considered snagging one of the silver PGs for my BH5 since they have them, but decided it would look much better keeping the black PG on it.

Just got a BlackFish JJ... not really digging the gray PG. If Reverend still has some Black JJ PU covers... I'd very interested in a black PG.
If you are looking to get rid of it in the near future... I might be willing to take that off your hands... just shoot me a PM when ready to move it.
