I've strung my 'fish with GHS Bassics, D'a XLs, DR Sunbeams, D'a Chromes, Ken Smith Nickels, and probably a couple others that I can't remember. I always use 45-65-80-100 or as close as I can get to that. I like the Sunbeams the best, followed by the Chromes. I also somewhat missed the zing when I went to flats, although i really would like to try the TI Flats since I prefer lower tension strings. They seem to have a lot of support here... :eyebrow:

Brief thread hijack for all the Detroiters....The Polka Floyd Show will be at the Hard Rock Cafe tomorrow, thursday. Not an official cd release party, but we did get a small shipment in today....Back to Reverends.....I had a 5L that was stolen from me. It came with LaBella flats on them. I thnk I still have them because I put rounds on them...Maybe I should give them a whirl.

Hey, Metro-Detroit Fish Fans!!!

Joey Naylor will be at the Old MiaMI TONIGHT! The drummer for BLAMMO!, Evan Rude, grew up with Joey, and BLAMMO! is playing the MiaMI tonight. So, I'm gonna be there in hopes of having him put his JFN under the ZSG on a couple of my Newer Fish!!! I bet he'd be THRILLED to do likewise & also to anyone else's Reverends that showed up!

Also on the bill is Caustic Attitude, my former band, and Taking on the world...Ask for Fat Tony, that's me...Now back to your normally scheduled Rumblefishing.

I will SQUEEZE Him!!! And Thanks Him. Again!

I've been trying to sit in on his sessions with Evan Rude for about a year now. But his daughter has been playing bass for him. :scowl: I guess she's too busy now, so...:bassist: we'll see!

Well hey there peeps... I got my fish ta-day... pretty cool little bass.

I put a set of Sadowsky nickel lights on it... The G is now super hot, the E too but the A and D strings have up and left the building... ideas?

Not sure what to say about your Reverend Toby, though I guess I'll get to see it for myself tomorrow.

I haven't had any string to string balance problems on my 5L, which has the regular pole pieces, but on my BH5 and my PJ, the pole pieces are those hex set screws, and about 20 seconds with an allen wrench corrected the minor string to string volume issues I've experienced.

Hopefully we can get your issue resolved tomorrow at the GTG.

God I love the color on that bass. It's a tossup for me which finish I like best -- the 69 lime green and your turquoise 'fish. It TOTALLY suits the retro look of the bass, and IMO should have been a standard/common color.

I wondered about the strings too. Also price wise, I remeber a rant earlier in the thread about a NOS bugeye for $1k as way too high--seems it was about what the market bears for these.

Just found out a local music store is a new Reverend Guitar dealer--I've got to drag the 2 guitarists in our blues band down there to try a few out and see what they think. I'd love to see one of them pick up a gold Club King HB:bassist:
