I am working on a New and Improved Reverend Bass Page...

Does anyone have a pic of the White PJ with the plexi-glass PG that allows you to "see into" the guts?

I thought I had one... but now can't find it

Anyway, that worked out... so I will go back to the well for another Drink..

Anyone have a picture of "The" Diamond Plate Rumblefish... there is one out there somewhere...

Or how about an Engine Turned 4 string (4 JJs, 1 XL & 1 PJ)?

There is also an XL made in the same Hammered Gold as the Rev NAMM guitars... anyone got a pic?

Thanks for the tip on strings, Bart. I plan on trying flats on it eventually. I just ordered a new set of Fender 8255s (roundwounds) for it -- same strings that came on my Fender P5 and they sound great on that bass. One thing I like about them is the taperwound B. Anyone know of a 5-string flatwound set with a tapered B?

Chromes are the flats for the 5L, trust me on this.
I tried: LaBella, Sadowsky and TI as well. None "maximised the 5L-ness'' as well as the Chromes, IMO

For me, the DA XL170 bright nickels are the best rounds for it; but, I just generally like those as well.

Alright, the 5L is here and it's awesome. I gave the truss rod a little tweak and now the neck is dead straight and the action is a nice medium-low. Plays fantastic, like a good Reverend should. The strings (looks like Ernie Ball or D'Addario) have plenty of life left, so I'm leavin' 'em on.
I won't get to hear it amplified properly until tomorrow night but it sounds great unplugged.

Very nice.

Chef's a big fan of the Chromes, and others are too, but I really liked the TI flats on the 5L, thus earning it the moniker "Thumpy."

Man, did that bass kill. I don't miss fivers in general, but I miss it. More than any other bass I've ever sold.

Time to tell my Reverend story. I bought a Rumblefish 4 back when they first came out and loved it. It was a light blue and I played a lot of gigs and toured England and Scotland with her (great for travel with the bullet case.) Then, when I heard that Reverend was dis-continuing their basses I ordered this light flame maple finish with maple neck. I rarely used the blue baby anymore and ended up selling it a couple of years ago to someone in the NW. So, here's a pic of my maple Rumblefish (apparently one of only three ever made.) Cheers dm

Matrok, nobody big time..I was in the Sue Wilkinson Band and we did original, piano based Americana/R&B type stuff. But I gotta say that several soundmen and other players asked about the Reverend and tried it out ect. There probably weren't but a couple of Reverends in the UK at that time. This was back in 2002..dm
