1K imports are going to be a tough sell. I suppose it works for the Skyline stuff from Lakland, but definitely beyond where I'm willing to go.

The Rumblefish were a great deal when they were made, given what they were -- American-made hollow bodied basses.

At $1k, these seem to be priced at or above the competition. Can't see myself springing for one unless I'm completely blown away. I think I'll probably just stick with the fish I've got.

It's hard to beat that logic...

To contradict myself, the Dub King's a different animal, being a short scale...the reviews have ALL been great! Hopefully, the prices may be a few hundred less for the regular line...

A few things to consider;

i) prototype collectibility
ii) 3 days use at a trade show

Sure, I'm being optomistic, but Joe's add refers to the specific, unique quality/quantity of these instruments...it may also be a bit of a market feeler, in terms of price...

I've contemplated the same thing...like the guitar line, other colors may come, as well...$1200.00 for an import solid body?

Sadly, I have to agree. I was and am a big Reverend supporter. I have a Slingshot I bought as a demo off the website back in 2002 or so, a Hellhound amp, and Drivetrain from my guitar-centric days (the Drivetrain is on my bass pedalboard as well). I felt bad about missing the boat on the basses as I didn't play at the time. When I heard about the new ones I was expecting to be blown away. A vintage style semi hollow short scale with MM humbuckers kind of misses the point IMO. And I know the market has changed a lot over the last 8-10 years (when you could find a new American Standard Fender for $700 all the time), but for the price I'm not convinced. I like Reverend as a company and hope these basses do well, but I don't see myself buying one of these models.

Then again, I reserve the right to change my mind completely once I actually play one .

Any less than what it's going for right now might qualify as "bargain basement." I am really surprised that bass is still around.

35" scale, 18mm spacing...I think. Doesn't feel like spot on 19.
Super comfortable basses, the old Rev's.

I am really a 19mm kind of guy, but I miss a Rev in my hands.

I don't think it's some freakish 'tweener
I think it's 18, but "it might be 19 and feel like 18" cause the chromes I have on there are fat gauged. If that makes sense.

Anyone else notice there isn't any Thundergun prototypes listed? Did anyone get a chance to play one? I will say that there is no way I could justify spending $1k+ for an asian import......surely they won't price themselves out of the market like that.
