I didn't ask, but I'm sure it's a 35. The head stock stuck out of the bag he brought it in! He's meeting with case companies at NAMM.
That's the only one I've tried so far.
I'm sure getting the strings away from the pickups will help some. It almost seemed heavily compressed when I really dug in. I'm just wondering if that's why it seemed perfectly balanced...string to string wise?

Anyone else upgrade their electronics in these? The stock pots are small dime-size pots, so I put in some CTS pots, and an orange drop capacitor. I think it does sound better. Anyone popped some new pickups in one?

I could see putting good quality pots in there, though to tell you the truth, the stock stuff seems fine.
The pickups I would not change...

I heard no substantive diff, I don't think.
They didn't have same/same strings on them, so, hard to say the small diff that was there was attributable to one thing or another.

Great band, good gig, lot of out of town friends showed I wasn't expecting...it was nice!

I'm pretty sure Joe told me they were the same, covers aside.
However, I think the spacing is different by 1/2" between the two types cause there are two different pickgaurds; which might make a hearable diff as well.

You know Chef, it very well could all be in my mind as well! I know it shows on the VU meter on my head. The B and E buries the needle, while the D and G barely move it. So I see that....and then earplugs in....just might make my ears hear a difference. Plus, 90% of the time, the keyboardists left hand is playing exactly what I'm playing.....and then you throw the accordian on top. I'm sure that thing is right around the same frequencies. I just know that some of the runs I always do, really popped the other night.
Another thing I remembered. I can't use a pick. My thumb cramps up after a few minutes and I have to let go. I tried a pick briefly, and it did seem to solve the problem of it getting lost. So I'm thinking more and more it's a height issue between the strings and pickups. I definitely don't play as hard with a pick as I do my fingers
