Daniel, I would say that both basses are similar in terms of brightness. This obviously depends on your amp EQ, use of the blend knob etc. but with the blend knob in the middle position, there's not much in it. I have both and find the Decision a more powerful guitar with the two blade pickups. They just seem to have considerably more output. Having said that, I tend to play the Mercalli more as I just prefer the scooped tone, with the blend knob slightly towards the front pick-up. I usually (well pre-COVID) would bring the Decision to those gigs where I wasn't using IEMs. I don't think you can wrong with it.

It was only available in the older Decision model (not Decision P). I converted mine from an original Party Red Decision neck with block inlays and a Powder Yellow body. Ended up costing far more than just buying a green Decision P, but I'm a sucker for blocks.

I know it's just a Tele at heart, but mmmmmm damn Reverends are delicious.
I've kept on eye on Reverend for years since I saw those Formica top ones they did way back when. And now I'm finally in the club with a Thundergun. Really enjoy the variety of sounds I can get from this. This is my first time with a bass that has a bridge pickup that isn't a jazz pickup and it actually is useful by itself.

Allright folks, I am seriously thinking about picking up a 3rd Reverend for the purpose of defretting.
Has anyone here attempted defretting one of Reverend's awesome bolt-on roasted maple necks? I'm sure it's no different than defretting any other bass (which I have admittedly never done, but I do have a few old necks I can practice on first). I was just curious if anyone here has already taken the plunge, bonus points if you have anecdotes and/or pics to share.
Looking at either a 2nd Raymond, or a Decision as viable candidates.

Loving my Triad, though I have two things I wanted to seek advice about.

It looks like there's an issue with string alignment; it sort of looks like they're all shifted to the right (or towards the floor, with bass in hand). It's not a huge problem, but I've noticed it. I've added pictures of the nut and bridge views as well. Is this something I should contact Reverend about?
Finally, and I don't think this is a big deal, and it doesn't bother me at all, but this is a thing:
Note the noticeable gap between the body and the lip-edge of the neck. That, and how the pickups look like they're standing pretty tall in their cavities. It's almost as if they planned to put a pickguard on this bass and decided against it (which I would agree with, at least with this color). This is a huge nit-pick, but I could see it bothering other people (and I think I've seen it brought up elsewhere).
Regardless of these, I'm over-the-moon for this bass. Love Reverend looks, and the sounds that come from this thing are superb and varied.

The "lip" of the fretboard hanging over the body is totally normal, I have several basses that have this...The Pickup height looks OK to me, just my opinion though.
As far as string alignment, yeah that's off pretty bad, I'd contact Reverend about that.
They actually really do, which is one of the reasons I don't really care. Even that neck "overhang" works nicely as a thumb anchor as well, when I want to play near the neck. As previously commented it seems standard (I just hadn't seen it before), at worst is a bug that's also a feature.
