Thanks for the lead. I'm curious about the new Reverend bass models (particularly the Decision and Justice models)... but I wonder how the necks feel. I like J-bass style necks...
All of the new basses have a slightly wider neck. Think Modern P bass but more comfortable to me. I personally prefer the modern precision nut width. But I think most people would be comfortable with the new Reverend neck. There is something very right about it. Almost feels broken in and plays very fast.
It seems several Dealers have one or two in stock so you may be able to find one to play?

Picked up a Mercalli V (flamed) at a music store "going out of business" sale at a rediculously low price. I was in denial for a good day or two, but i do believe I like this axe a LOT better than my Fender American Jazz V...and I had thought the Fender was THE one for me. Now I'm thinking of unloading the Fender and finding another Reverend. I got a ton of compliments at this weekend's gig about what how great it sounded. Just...wow...

Does yours have the arm contour? My first Mercalli was the first prototype with no arm contour. It was a tossup between the original 5L and the Merc to which I liked better. I liked the feel of the 5L neck, but the 35 scale never felt natural to me. I just got a new Merc with the arm contour, and it just feels awesome all around. I don't touch my 5L anymore.
Mine has a slab top, no contour. I played it for a 5 hour show on Saturday and didn't notice really...which is something I can't say for the other non-contoured basses I've owned.

My beloved Reggie...Rumblefish XL is in need of an electronics overhaul - switch, pots, cap. Before I dig into the bass, I thought I would see if anyone has any lessons learned or advice, or possible upgrade suggestions.
I'm assuming it has a 250k tone pot, 500k vol pot, and 0.022 cap. I'll have to verify this before ordering new parts.
Anyone been through this before on an XL? thanks!

No, but I did replace the pups in my 5L with EMG's running 18V. Made a huge difference. I did not care for the stock ones. The Houser pups are awesome though.
