Hello Reverend Owners,

If I could impose upon you for some information, what is the weight of Reverend? I would like to determine if they generally fall within a weight range. I'm looking to lighten the load and moving to a Reverend could be a high quality way of doing it.

Generally light, but the weights on mine have varied by as much as 1.5+ lbs, the lightest weighing 7.2 lbs.

Pretty big weight swing when ya think about it.

I've never weighed mine, but I find it a comfortable bass. I had to sell a P bass that I really liked due to shoulder and left hand problems and went to Ibanez basses. Played those for 15 years before switching to the Reverends. It's a bit heavier than the Ibanez, but I have no complaints at the end of the gig.

I've not wiehged mine, but they're light...waaay lighter than my old mahogany G&L's...

According to my bathroom scale, my blue Rumblefish weighs 8.5 pounds, while the white and red ones each weigh 9 pounds.

Thanks guys. Yes the plastic rim is black. I guess it's a modification made by one of the previous owner, who painted the white rim. The tuning keys are from an Italia Modulo bass, I changed them. I really think that the perloid one are nice on the fish!

It's funny how the Reverend either gets a lot attention or none at all. I've done two auditions in the last year where no one even looked twice at the bass. Last night I was auditioning at the same time as a guitar player and when we were packing up the keyboard player came over and asked him about his reissue Tele, but not a word about my bass.

I've noticed that, too. I rarely get comments about my Rumblefish from people who play other instruments (although, the occasional guitarist or drummer will remark on how good the bass sounds.) But, when I encounter another bass player, almost without fail, they either know about Reverends, or want to know.

Huh, nearly without fail I get "WFT is that, and how come it sounds so good" or "yeah, I've always wanted one of those," or "i've seen their guitars, never knew they made basses."

Yes, I usually get the "Your Bass sounds "F"ing Awesome! What is that thing?" Once in a while someone will recognize what it is, and comment on how they want one, or had one, and wish they still had it, etc...

But since since my Guitarist, Dr. Vic RoX (Yes, he's a REAL M.D...) plays a Reverend as well, we seem to get the Guitarists commenting as well!

VERY cool! That 5-string of yours is mighty nice.
When I got my first Rumblefish in late '98, I tried to talk the guitar player in my band into getting a Reverend. He agreed to check one out, so we went to the local Reverend dealer. Long story short, he couldn't put it down. He kept cycling through the different tones, saying "Wow." And then, "Wow!" But, being a Les Paul guy, he complained the Reverend was too light!
