The light guage LowRiders have a .120 B. The difference of .005 makes big difference.........at least for me
I find it much easier to play without any loss of bottom or punch. I also have them on my LeCompte and they work great on that as well.

hmmmmm. I'm like Dave, I dig in pretty hard. KJung commented the first time he saw me play, "Wow! You have a really aggressive attack!" Loose might not be too good.
Yes, they make a standard and light set. I really like the light ones. The .120 B just has a much nicer feel. The only place I can find them is Just Strings:

I bought a set of S.I.T.s to put on my 5L. I got home and put them on, and the B string was buzzin like crazy. Checked the truss rod, bridge, everything seemed all right. Then I noticed the wrapping.....Saturday morning and my brains not working right yet..... at the string tree end...where the wrapping becomes unlayered.. I can't for the life of me think of what's that called this morning...The first unwrapping was before the nut, right on the neck. Luckily, the store exchanged it for me. I like the SIT's but I'm thinking of trying some Drs next.

Hey Matt, am I a member? If not, what do I need to do? Not sure if I joined before....at least I never got my card in the mail!
I dig in pretty hard too and have had less of a bad time with fret buzz from my Ti-equipped 5L than I have had on most of my other basses, though the 35" scale probably has something to do with that. Just my experience. The TI jazz flat low B string also blends in better tonally (sounds more like the other four strings) than most other B strings in a five-string set, and that's worth a lot in my book.
TIs are definitely on the loose side, but they really do sound good on the Reverends. 4mal has some on his orange PJ 'fish, I believe, and it really plays like dream.
Alright, if I can get out of here for a few minutes today, I'm gonna pick me up some flats for the 5L. Thanks for the suggestions.

I had Fender 9050 flats on my gold-top P/J since I got it from Craig. Liked them well enough, tho LaBella 760FL's are my prefered flats-clear on top, big fat bass!
WEll, I tired of the Fenders, and slapped on a set of my prefered rounds-DA XL170's...
Holy Transformation Batman!
I'd never been able to get a setup I rrrreallly liked with the big fat high tension Fender flats, and they were dead and gone. I know some folks like that, I don't. I want some clarity with my flats, and tone from my right hand, and rolling the pots off a tad.
Well the DA's allowed the setup I really dig, and man! It went from a semi-underpowered thump machine to a real snarling dawg! I was running thru a Mesa Walkabout 12 on top of a Schroeder 1210. Played DB the first two sets, and the P/J the second two sets. The sound man, all my band mates, and my favorite bass player (besides me!) in town all wanted to know "what the heck that was, and how do you make it sound like that!"
P pup on full was just huge and punchy, both pups on full was smooth and full with that little bit of J bass two pot mid scoop, and the back pickup all on was killer for beefy funky nastiness.
I've got a Fender 51 P re-issue, and a 72P both strung with flats. This axe will never go back, rounds are the deal for this one!

XL170's have been my favorite for awhile now, until I got these Elixirs. The PJ really has a great tone with both pups full on, I pretty much leave it there.
Yeah, he kills me every time we hang out. Great guy, and always has some fun gear to try out that I could never afford(except his 1212L).
