I'm with you Jaymi. I am hoping the factory continues to look at inlay material in the hopes of finding material more close to any of the poured inlays. CB would be most appreciated.

I was so over joyed that I could barely pluck a string but once I got on it I was sold. I've never felt craftsmanship at that level and I own a new 2008 EBMM Sterling and I love it but this thing is a new kinda monster. So my mission for the next week is to get up $2000 for it because they are pretty scarce right now. I have $500 so far and I have the guy holding it until Monday...wish me luck guys. What they told you is BOGUS. The real truth is that RIC does not let them advertise a discounted price in their public advertising, such as on a web site. However, RIC does not prevent them from selling you the bass in-person for any discount tthat Samash wants to give you.

I think it is just BS from Samash. What is true is that since they must wait almost two years as a dealer before RIC ships them an on-spec bass, they feel they can refuse to discount it and maybe you will cave and pay them full price due to "scarcity". The reality is that it is a buyer's market and if you bring cash in to the highest manager at the store that you can find, then the manager will slice the price down at least 10% and maybe 15% to move the item quickly. That is, as long as the manager does not have to give a floor salesperson a cut (commission) simply because you talked first to the floor salesperson...
