BTW - i am really loving the extra umph the new pups have on the MF mid bass.. trying to decide if the reverse bridge pup is worth the work or not.....

I guess it could be fixed, but that is a whole extra few layers of useless upgrades needing returned to stock. Not for me, thanks!
I wonder who evaluated it at $6000, or why the seller is willing to take 50% of that.

It's very close to me. I'll see if I can haggle him down to a legit price and get another project in the works like my 4001FL...
is it idiot proof??? hate to mess up my brand new bass. does the sound change at all like a fender j bass does when both on very slightly out of phase feel and lower volume???

I find no change in the sound or output at all, other than it is noticeably more quiet now with both volumes on full. My drummer (who is also a sound guy) noticed the difference immediately. Back either volume off a bit, and you hear the noise like before.
It is nerve racking to be modifying an expensive bass, but to me, it was a mod well worth doing, especially since recently i have been using both pickups on full volume anyways. Previously, i use to really favor the bridge.

I am thinking of doing my burg glow into a flats machine with the bridge pup cap push pull so maybe i will do the reverse pup too and see... before i touch my perrty new mid blue ric.

The change in sound has nothing to do with RWRP, and a stock Ric already does it. The RWRP mod will not change this effect, i.e. make it greater or less than it already is. It is a result or running two pickups in parallel... RWRP or not. The two signals put a bit of a filter on each other because they sense the strings differently. RWRP has no effect on this because it only changes the phase of the hum (sensed by the coil), not of the signal from the string (sensed and transduced by the magnet).
EDIT: Prove it to yourself by taking a stock Ric and backing one volume off when both pickups are on... do it slowly and you'll hear one signal suddenly become unfiltered by the other and "pop" out. This is also what happens with Jazz Basses and people mistakenly think it's caused by RWRP, since the phenomena occur together.
If it bothers you, sure. I like the bezel. But whether the pickup is lopsided slightly has no practical effect on the sound or function.

If you like it, go for it. I think it's a pretty cool upgrade (bought one also).
