I bought one of those MF MID RIC when they had their sale. Overall very happy with it. However, I've noticed the binding where I rest my arm is crackd. Kind of surprised by this because I baby the RIC.

Eh, sell your soul and just buy it.By the way I would have to swap.
Was in Willie's American Guitars today to pick up my 2006 4001C64S following a setup. Calling to me from the wall was a new shiny Ruby 4003. Now I can't sleep.
Do it! Says left brain. Are you nuts? Says other left brain.
Evil temptress Ruby. Who wants to confuse me Furthur?
Lets see that was in august, so 9 months back what was the build date? i am guessing its out of rics repair range of 1 year.
Lovely Ric5.
Looks like yr Cheyenne is pretty similar to mine.
Yep the maple neck / board was a big part of making me bite on my new (to me) Cheyenne 4004c
LOVELY maple on it.
Used it at the corporate gig last night. With TRAYNOR YBA300.
WOW, lovely, just lovely slightly squishy/squashy tube tones.
The Ric just shines with this imo.
Seems really responsive in my hands too.
Perhaps it's the thin body coupled with the neck-thru...
Anyway, VERY successful 1st outing for me 'n my new, comfy Ric
The one-year range is for finish. Everything else is 5 years.
Ya the 4004ci basses have a wonderful mid growl. Nothing else quite like it. Wire it volume, volume, tone, or stacked knobs with 2 vol and 2 tone for better bass tone on the 4004.
Got this yesterday. Not the best shot (on my phone) but it will do as a start. She plays great with a really rich sound. Still not sure about the strings yet. Totally converted to a Rick player.
Can I get a number please

PaulBoyer said:???? That looks like a Montezuma Brown color in the photo, but that color was made possibly into 2006 (fulfilling orders from 2003-04). But it has the walnut head wings and full-width inlays. Is it just the color in the photo? Is it really brown or is it Fireglo?
Evsm73 said:No it's classed as walnut. It's a limited run. Only 25 world wide. I was lucky to get hold of it & came away with an excellent deal.
Thanks for the number & honoured to be part of the club. Still after advice on what string player use / prefer
Here's a recording my band just finished, featuring a 4003FL holding the low end together.
If you really enjoy your 4004C as it is, don't sweat it and leave it be. On mine, I decided to put in the concentric pots and have vol/tone for both pickups and still the pup switch and really enjoy the added tonal capabilities. It's all personal choice.I was thinkin of leaving it as is... I sorta like the 3 way switch. Have this set up on my Gibby G3.
You really think it's worth the job?? Get a lot more variation??
One gig in, I'm not real knowledgeable on Ric's of ANY kind yet![]()
