Must be bent on the treble side. No clearance whatsoever. None. Zilch. Zero.
Can't even begin to squeeze a leaf in there. The bass side has a clearance of .018
and that's it. I've run into a brick wall at this point and am basically "locked out"
for now. It would be fair to say that the treble truss rod is bent as the nut literally
touches the headstock. Hate to "noodle around" in there without tools specifically
designed for the task at hand. Been doing some brain storming. Maybe lift the
end of the rod with a small, flathead screwdriver but only just a little.
What I'd like to know is, "how the ____ did it get this way in the first place?"
I'm the original owner fer chrissakes!
i want my second rickenbacker NOW.

THANKS!!
I got it off e-bay in 2003.
$800.00!!! With a case, naturally.
It plays like a dream. The best playing and sounding Rick I've ever owned.
My 81 Jetglo 4001 comes close, but this one, is just the bomb. Tone like Geddy Lee like you wouldn't believe. It just plays soooo good!
I am so glad i got it. I always wanted a Burgandyglo Rick.
I want my first Rickenbacker now..
It's on it's way here right now.. Paid and done.. Just waiting for it to arrive..![]()

$800 for a Burgandyglo Rick, maybe there is hope!![]()
Golden advice.I would also clamp the end of the 'board while doing this, using thin wood or thick cardstock under and over the strings and thick cloth or leather on the back of the neck.
Just to be on the safe side!

This was taken on August 6, 2007. My 42nd Birthday.

My first Ric (bought new) was a '72 4003 (burgandy w/ checkerboard binding). At least I sold it to a friend.
Here's my 2001 4001V63JG

Does it have "the" capacitor? I haven't opened it up.

That DCM must be seen to appreciate. Stunning color, nice score!
Look what I got myself this week !!!!
A 4003 DCM 75th anniversary bass ( only 75 models made )!!! Immaculate look, immaculate beauty, immaculate sounding bass !!!! Feels great to own a part of the 'history' !!! The push/pull circuit is a great option too !!!
Honestly, this is such a beauty, the pictures will never do justice to the Bass !!! The gold pickguard and TRC are work of art ! This is a keeper !!!
