This is a stunning instrument, I rarely saw such a beautiful craftmanship on a Bass like that one, IMHO.

Certainly, you can count on me !!!! This is not the kind of Bass you bring with you at rehearsals !!! She will be 'babied' with me !!!
Like the look/idea of the CS model... though when I tried one a few years ago, I didn't prefer it to my 1982 4001. Maybe a setup might have helped? One thing which I might prefer is that it doesn't have the arm-gouging binding around the edges.... the 4001 can be a bit of a pain if I play it for a while. My Pedulla Rapture 5 is a lot more ergonomic.
Yea, you might want to check out a 4003S or 4001S, which doesn't have any binding, like that CS.
The 4001 C64 is nice. There's lots around right now. MF, Chicago Music Exchange, and many others have ample stock of the C64. Get 'em while they're available!
Given it's 1 of only 75, I'm not sure it should even be taken out of the case.
She is so precious... I'll be honest... she will be staying in the case !!!! And polished from time to time !!!
I honestly have more confidence in the finish of the DCM over the CS, which, over the years, showed lots of pickguard cracks and 'yellowing' finish. 1000 of CS made over 75 made for the DCM makes it even more appealing to me, IMHO. Does not mean I would not want one of these !!!!

I hear ya, and understand where you're comming from.
If there are only 75, and I had several other basses to play, I'd be inclined to pamper this one big-time.
I suppose I'm looking at it from an investment perspective and not a players point of view. Most players don't care if an instrument is beat up or has been refinished, so long as the instrument plays and sounds great. But it's different for a collector or an investor.
I suppose this might beg the question: Does a person who owns something like this have a responsability to preserve the instrument's integrity?
I consider owning part of the 'history, by having the chance of having that DCM 75th anniversary bass. So, it is up to me to preserve it for the years to come !!!! Therefore, I will take the responsibility and proper actions to preserve that piece of history !!!
