It's an old 60's 4000. When I got it, it had a big Guild pickup in it and the fretboard was separating. I put a toaster in it a few years back, but I got used to the vol/vol config because I played it for years with the Guild still in it. Actually, the Guild sounded awesome. I could get a great Jack Bruce / Cream tone out of it and it blended well with the bridge pup.

BTW, the '09 Ric has the treble pickup bezel installed, the Icon is upgraded with german made knobs, tailpiece and bridge.

I'm going to after I turn it into a V/T setup for each pickup and shield it. Right now it's a bit noisy with either pickup solo'd. Should be in a couple weeks hopefully, but yeah I know a lot of people want to hear what this sounds like.

That is awesome! I love how that bass looks! Very unique.

I have a Rick 4000 made in 1974, Burgundyglo, and I love that bass. The sound, feel, look, everything!

Don't give me a number just yet....the Darkstar might not be staying. The neck is proving to be quite hard to handle. I think I need one of the newer 4003's with the thinner neck.

I love both basses. I was in heaven the mintue I picked up my German Hofner last month and now here I am smack dab in the middle of bliss again with the Ric... I seriously need to stop though.

Jaymi, is that Burg?? Almost looks like a shoeless RIHS in the bridge position. A SD in the neck? Nice price!
